Both the wife and I were yearnning for a good burger and Red Robin purportedly has "gourmet" burgers so we thought we would give it a try. This was our first time here and we were excited. I opened the door for the wife and the handle was pretty sticky and you do eat a burger with your hands so I spotted a hand sanitizer once inside. I walked over to it and pushed the button a few times and found it to be empty. The hostess saw this and said nothing......I let it pass. We were walked thru the building and were seated at a table in the back. The place was pretty busy, usually a good sign. BTW, this was a Sunday afternoon. We waited a few minutes before a waitress came. She appolgozed for the wait. We ordered water and our burgers. Wife had an guacamole burger with Yukon chips and I had the scorpion burger with garlic fries. Presentaion was great, everything looked good, then, the taste.....Not knowing how Yukon chips are to be served, wife was surprised they were not warm....not a big deal but not what se was expecting. My garlic fries were hot and had a dollop of garlic over them with a sprinkling of shredded parmasean cheese? OK, the burgers....The wifes guacamole burger did not have much guacamole on it and she took it apart to see if it had any.....a smear on the top bun was all. My scorpion burger was spicy as it should be but was drowned out by an obnoxious amount of sauce on it. Not sure what it was but it was sweet and did nothing usefull for the burger, best just left off! I went to salt the fries. The salt shaker is a manual grinder which means you pick it up and twist with BOTH your hands. This was about as bad as the entry door, sticky and just not a pleasant things when you eat with yor hands. I stick by the 2 stars. The only thing a burger joint has, it's reputation and attention to detail. If you let either slip in this day and age, your gone. For $35.00, we will not be returning and please don't respond to this review, your job was to keep from getting low marks before these low reviews...
Read moreThere can be no denying that the smell while driving by this place is intoxicating. No matter how fast you're driving by or how thick the windows on your vehicle are - It sells the initial "time to hit up the Red Robin" in every family and in tonite's case - solo driver lookin' for a quick bite. What doesn't sell well - is the $12.69 price for a MEH bacon cheeseburger, and a smallish dish of "Adult Mac & Cheese." When it's all said and done (and this was with a water, no drink mind you) we're at $16. That's a lot of money for what I got to eat this evening. I'm also confused on the multiple-person helping me to enjoy the atmosphere/service thing. When it comes time to tip, I'm assuming that's a pooled thing but - I never feel like I've gotten to know any of the people that "help" me when I visit and it doesn't build any rapport for a future visit. Add on the COVID-friendly (but not customer friendly) check-out kiosk that is pointed to "this is all set when you're ready to pay" and I have to wonder - do I need to start rooting for a drive-thru here? What I think Red Robin could instantly benefit from, is a $10 Burger & Side Meal, that might include a soft drink as well. The problem of course is that their current soft drinks are listed at $2.93. What this means is that a family of three coming into only get a simple burger - the evening starts at $36 - for a burger each. I'm sold on the scent that is inescapeable every time I drive by. I am mostly satisfied with the food I get, but $16 is almost two whole meals elsewhere for a quick bite to eat. That's a lot to ask and I look forward to driving by, smelling the burgers and seeing some new enticing specials that bring back the want to dig into something that will allow me to...
Read moreAwesome meal. The food was delicious and came out very quickly. Service was outstanding. Or server was attentive, helpful, and enjoyable.
I had the Southern Comfort burger and it was great. My wife had the Whiskey River burger and it was likewise very good. Both were large enough to be a big meal.
The fries were really good. Or server brought us a plate of fries while we were waiting for our meals, but we hardy had a chance to dig in before our meals arrived.
We were there pretty early (5pm for dinner), and the place was fairly empty. That could have impacted how quickly the food came out. But it was good for us!
I really recommend this place!
Just went back for another meal, and though it was good, I am reducing the food and service by one star. Service was ok until the end. I asked for the check, and waited ... I eventually figured out I needed to service myself on their on-table machine, but it would have been nice to have been told that rather than have to figure it out.
Also, I had the bottomless Dr Pepper cream soda, and it was just Dr Pepper with whipped cream on top. Nothing like the picture or description. This was not a cream soda in any capacity. The orange "cream" was the same story. Very disappointed in both.
The chocolate pretzel shake was delicious though, as were the onion rings.
The Hot Honey Chicken was just passable. I would not recommend it or get it again. Same with the...
