sweetgreen - Healthy Salads, Bowls and Plates — Restaurant in Darien

My first experience at a Sweetgreen was anything but sweet. This location states it is open until 9pm - walked in at 7:30pm and decided to order the Chipotle Chicken Bowl. The bowl gets almost completely made when the employee whispers to us that there is no more blackened chicken for the night - we offered to wait for more but they said the kitchen is closed for the night already. So bland roasted chicken was the only option, we reluctantly agreed. Then, I asked for avocado… no avocado left. Then, they started packing up the order without the chipotle salsa. We asked for the salsa and they said they were out. Now we have a hodgepodge mess of a bowl we don’t even want and won’t taste good. The staff were running around like chickens with their heads cut off completely drowning with online orders and a line of people. I am echoing a previous post about the loud mouth woman yelling at the employees. I think she is a manager, kind of short, stocky, about 40, dark hair. She was very obnoxious and created a highly chaotic atmosphere. The young people taking our orders could not even hear us over her yelling, and we could not hear what they were asking us. Then while I was being rung up at the register, she starts barking orders at the employees and the clerk had to void my order and re-do it because of the manager's interruption. I never have experienced a chaotic environment like this at the Greenwich location. Update: We decided to go back to see what it is like without that horrible manager. I’m writing this because management needs to know why this location is doomed to close, which is a shame because I like having a salad place close by. More than once I have had dirt in my salad. I’m not talking about a little grit. Would take a few bites hoping it was a one-off but it really was inedible. I did receive a refund twice. This place is in my neighborhood so I thought maybe the issue would be resolved. However the last time the manager on duty literally admitted to me that they knew it was an issue and were trying to resolve it. Wait, you KNEW the lettuce was dirty and haven't figured out how to WASH it? I will NEVER EVER go back. Moms talk in town. People have had bugs in their salad (not roaches I will say but bugs).
