Dockside Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Dauphin Island

Ordered the shrimp basket with coleslaw, that was all I got. 10 tiny shrimp and a 2 oz condiment container of slaw. Not my idea of a $21.65 meal. Had to ask for tartar and cocktail sauce. I didn't even buy a drink or dessert. Wouldn't recommend, the next night I spent less at Islanders and had a wonderful sit down meal with my friends. If I had my own vehicle I would have taken the food back and asked for a refund. DISAPPOINTED 😞

Update: for the owner: just spoke with my friend who also did take out on Saturday evening and she also had the tiny 2 ounce coleslaw with her fish basket. She didn't get any hush puppies either. And our meals were 16.65 each and we left a tip. So no both of our meals were "not as advertised".

This is our first time visiting the island and this was the first place we visited. I’m currently pregnant and haven’t been able to eat a lot of food and I’ve been limited to what will stay down. We stopped here because of the great reviews. The menu isn’t very large, but everything is freshly caught. I had the mahi mahi (blackened) and it was the absolute best mahi I have had in a long time! It was so juicy and wasn’t dry at all! And they give you a lot of it. Normally when I order mahi, I get a tiny block of fish and they give you 3 blocks here, plus your side. The French fries were great as well. My parents had the chicken finger basket and the shrimp tacos which both received 5 stars. Chicken tenders were very flaky and had a great batter. The shrimp tacos were definitely fresh shrimp. The owner was super nice as well and so was the staff. I'm sure the foods good, but I wouldn't know. I have been to the bar above a few times before, and everytime the restaurant has been open and taking orders till 8pm as the website says. Made plans to get there at 7pm and drove an hour to get there only to be told as soon as we walked in the door that they already served their last customer and are closed for the evening. There was no reason or warning given. Highly frustrated to come all that way and it be closing an hour early. I didn't help that every other restaurant on the island was closed, closing too soon for us to be able to get there in time, or had a 2 hour wait time that wouldn't allow us to go to the event we wanted to afterwards. ended up having to drive nearly 40 minutes away for food that wasn't gas station chicken tenders.
