Skinners Seafood — Local services in Dauphin Island

We’ve visited before and the first time things were great, but the second time it was subpar at best. I know how it is in the food industry and everyone doesn’t cook the same (or in this case steam the same), so we decided to give it another go. Worst decision ever! These were NOT $12.99 shrimp and they were definitely overcooked. I’m not sure if they don’t care anymore or if it’s because most people will just come here if they’re already on the island because everything else is so far away! But whatever the reason is, it’s unacceptable and poor customer service to say the least. And speaking with management is a joke because they aren’t listening to anything other than praises. This is a great place. First thing, this is not a sit-down restaurant. Skinner's is a seafood market. They offer fresh seafood caught from the Gulf such as red fish, red snapper, varieties of shrimp, scallops, and much more. Skinner's will steam the seafood for you, and they also offer call in orders for pickup. They sell spices, breading and other things that you can purchase for preparing seafood if you want to cook it yourself. Their health grade is a 99, and it's posted on the back wall with two previous ratings of 99. I ordered the red snapper, and shrimp, and a side of coleslaw and corn on the cob.
