Every time I go to Jack’s I can confidently say I have never had a good experience. I will not be coming back. The reviews that say the bar staff is friendly are straight up lying, although that may be the case for the regulars that are very obviously regularly overserved and completely wasted. The staff seem to love them. Even the owner is not friendly. That may or may not be their “appeal” but it doesn’t cut it anymore. The service is terrible. Every time I have been there it’s only one bartender making drinks AND cooking all of the food. I can’t imagine food safety is a priority when the bartender is chugging vodka and pickle juice. Just tonight, football Sunday, the bartender is so overwhelmed at 4 or so making food for everyone and drinks for everyone that we waited ten minutes or more for just drink orders. She was rude, passed us by multiple times, made rude comments and STILL didn’t take any drink orders. I left frustrated and my boyfriend waited out getting drinks. The one time I went up for drinks I waited over five minutes while she passed by multiple times, talked to some guy about sauces for a while, meanwhile multiple people are waiting for drinks. She finally acknowledged me, chugged her vodka, THEN took my drink order. I’m a server and a bartender. I know she was dealing with way too much, meaning the bar should have had more staff. Then the owner comes strutting in at 7 and is always rude and arrogant. This place is unprofessional and, honestly, gross. Good space though, maybe one day a better establishment will...
Read moreThe LST is a great neighborhood bar. Plenty of large-screen TVs scattered around the room and behind the long bar are tuned to several different sporting events. One large screen TV shows old music videos and the bar's sound system plays the video's audio ( too loud for my tastes-- making it hard to converse on a busy Saturday night). There are three pool tables, a long shuffle board, at least a couple electronic dart games, and other electronic games. Children are allowed if accompanied by their parents. Typical bar food is served, such as simple sandwiches and fried appetizers such as chicken wings, hand cut fries, tater tots, mozzarella sticks, etc. ( appetizers are mainly in the $2.50 to $4.50 range. Our family has gone to the LST for at least 40 years, as we used to live nearby. We still will have large family get togethers there occasionally: we meet up at five or six so those with kids can attend early and play games with their parents for a while before being sent home. On a recent Saturday between 6 and 10 pm the crowd seemed to mainly be a mix of 20 s to 30s, with our group throwing in a few in our...
Read moreLoved this place. Had lots of tables for entertainment like pool tables and card tables and even a gambling table which we had never seen before. Was alot bigger than what we thought judging by the outside. The bartender was so amazing. She waited on everyone with a smile and cooked everything perfectly all by herself with about a dozen people to attend. We decided to give it a try for a quick bite and I got the ribeye sandwich which was awesome. Big juicy steak inside a fluffy bun. Perfectly seasoned. My brother got a burger and he enjoyed it... He's a big burger guy so if he likes it it's a big deal. Lol. He ordered a top shelf long Island and it was good(being as we went to a fancy place later that weekend and it was mostly pop and tequila... Long islands aren't even suppose to have tequila) Overall a great experience in a little dive bar. Would definately recommend for people who want to relax with good food and drinks and...
