I have been a long time customer at Ol Hickory I have for many years enjoyed the food and service. I remember the days of waiting for hours to get a table and it was always worth the wait. In the last couple of years I have noticed the quality of food has dropped but still ok and the service has slacked off. There is still some really wonderful servers there make no mistake but Ive noticed many of the newer servers are not quite up to par. This last week my husband and I went and took my brother and sister in law for their very first visit and I have to say their last as well as ours. Our waitress once who was extremely slow came to collect on our bill and mixed up our cards we brought it to her attention she said she would have her manager cancel the ticket and re run our card as it turns out she did not even tell the manager but only re ran the cards double charging our cards. That night I checked our account as I do when any mistake is made just to be sure it was ok and much to my surprise we had been charged twice my brothers accout was also charged twice. So my husband called the resturant and spoke to the manager who assured us it would be taken care of by the end of the night. We checked the next day charges still there. Called the manager he said he would look into it called again next day charges still on managers asked for us to call and talk to someone on monday evening so we did they said give it 3 days and they would take off both charges for the incovenience of the whole matter I thought that was very kind and would have more than made up for the incident. However, now a week later the second charge is still pending on my account and had to involve my bank and low and behold to make matters worse they renigged on taking off both charges and the first charge has already cleared my bank. So my husband went there to talk to the manager and he was asked to leave no resolution. So buyers beware of using your credit cards here you may end up with paying double for your dinner. Read moreI ordered over the phone a carryout order of 2 chopped sirloin steak, was told 25-30 minutes, I gave them 35 before I went in to get my order, at 45 minutes I had to ask for them to check on my order cause I was told when I got there it was only 2-3 minutes before it would be ready, so at the 45 minute and I asked the hostess to go check on my order I told him to make sure my order was correct and they come out of the kitchen and said oh they're boxing up your meal now, they were trying to push out a party, like that was my problem that I had to wait because they didn't have enough help to do a decent job. I get my food and on my way home pull over to check it since my receipt did not print out as to everything that I had ordered and my food was wrong. I ordered a medium chopped sirloin with steak fries and mushrooms with white bread for one meal my second meal was well done chopped sirloin steak with two baked potatoes with butter only with bagels and I ordered a Julianne salad on the side for my husband, when I open the boxes to look the one baked potato was with the mushrooms and the other dinner had just a steak fry no other baked potato and I was missing the salad. I worked a 12-hour day and all I wanted was a pickup order for dinner to go home eat dinner grab a shower and go to bed and I had to turn around and take my food back and they didn't seem to care the quality of the restaurant has really gone down and I have been a customer for 30 plus years and find it very sad the service that I have gotten today. Read moreYUCK! Worst BBQ, HORRIBLE manager! NEVER GO BACK! I've enjoyed the Old Hickory BBQ, but 20 years ago. I moved and came back, eager to try it again. I was SO DISAPPOINTED. My ribs were dry and tough. My friend's cabbage rolls were flavorless. The server made no eye contact, and let us know she was in a hurry, but obviously not to get us our food, as we waited 40 minutes. When we asked to speak to the manager to let him know the food was not good, he got super defensive and argumentative. No apology, no offer for something else, just him telling me that they "sell a lot of ribs". I didn't go for dried out ribs, I didn't go to pay $20.00 for food I didn't even eat. The manager told me he wanted the $60.00 for our bill and then we didn't have to come back, if we didn't like it! He needn't worry! I'll NEVER go back again. I was treated as though I didn't come prepared to pay for my meal instead of as a valued customer. He could have cared less and made it obvious. If you dare go, don't expect them to bring you your bill, either! The server comes to the table and verbally tells you your total with no bill for the customer to see!
