"If I could give a business the 'Golden Business Award for 2024,' although the year has just started, unanimously and without question, I would recognize @barrelhouse as the nominee and recipient.

Justification: Throughout my ongoing observations and interactions over the past few months, I have noticed the following: The BH is committed to upholding prestige and fostering a warm environment that is most inviting and inclusive, where all people, unalike, may come to engage and socialize through collaborative small groups in the eclectic intimate space.

This is most certainly a safe space that is cognizant of a variety of differences and perspectives of its customers. Any patron can come to gather and fellowship in celebration with friends or familiarity in pairs, small groups, or alone. The ambiance at the front, vibrant energy, and eclectic genre selection of musical assignments grab you and allow you to 'exhale' while taking a seat and making yourself at home.

Assignment Best Understood Hands down! The counter staff, servers, and hosts are the most hospitable and easiest people to talk to. All of the wine, IPA, and drafts are different, and not a single one is like the other, which speaks to the creativity that flows throughout. The decor is simply splendid, and the music brings about a desire for purpose, change, growth, and action.

Professionalism and customer service are through the roof! I've had the chance to visit twice since being here in Dayton, OH. And I have yet to experience anything short of an amazing time. I remain 100% satisfied with no negative remarks or feedback. So, I acknowledge and thank each and every one who contributes to the success at BH. As a business executive owner and operating trainer, I would like to personally recognize all the staff and management for the hard work that you do every day!

So, your Barrel and Mortar serve as the #1 staple model business for which every new, current, and wise being of youth may come to find peace, joy, and happiness. The best place in Dayton to relax like it's your home away from home. It's my favorite spot to work, read, draw, and talk with friends. Wednesday and Thursday are the only days I would recommend against conversation -- it gets pretty loud on those days in the evenings. The patio is great as well although the view leaves a little to be desired.

The beer selection is always insane with some limited (and growing) cider, mead, and seltzer selections. There are many non-alcohol options as well from soda, CBD, mocktails, and more.

Takeout is available. If there is a bottle on the shelf you're interested in they have a quick chiller that takes ~5 mins to chill the bottle.

Check their Facebook for any special events and food trucks available. Their page is very active.

The service here rocks, genuinely friendly people that obviously love what they do and enjoy good beer. Lots of local selections from the Ohio micro brewery scene. I haven't checked out their wines, but looks like as much care as beer inventory. I should make a point to hang out some night, since the seating looks to be a very comfortable and chill environment, more lounge-ish than bar for sure, seems naturally a social little place. Also, it is across the street from my new food obsession as of late, the Colombian food joint, Arepas Co., so I will probably just gravitate to that intersection of Wayne Ave. and 3rd Street. Stock up, get a growler, and keep coming back for beer. The price per oz is pretty darn good for quality beers when re-filling, and they always seem to fill it up a good bit over the 64oz mark, haha. ...
