Dayton Barrel Works is impressive. As a sister establishment to Dayton Beer Company (which I really enjoy, especially their patio and live music atmosphere) I had high hopes. Thankfully, they deliver, in full. Yes, I’m a beer drinker primarily, but who doesn’t love a good cocktail from a local establishment that is also Dayton owned and operated? And what makes it better? They actually make their own spirits. I had the Rubicon Creek Bourbon served neat that went down smoothly for a rookie distillery. It was obvious to me they are taking the liquor business as seriously as their beer business so clearly you won’t be disappointed in the slightest.
The atmosphere is great and I can only assume it will get better once COVID-19 is in our rear view mirrors. With that said, I can’t wait to meet some friends for some drinks here. This place is made for socializing and it will be a sight to see when all of this Covid...
Read moreWent to Dayton Beer Company next Door where they had 30+ taps of good and interesting beers on tap. Found Java Man stout which suited my taste and talked to the bar keep about the place next door under same owners and decided to step over and try out the absinthe and more. My friend got the fountain. I got a 1/2 Oz straight and also tried the gin. Taking home a bottle of each. I look forward to trying the bourbons and whiskeys on the next visit.
Cara designed the negrone interpretation with torched candied dehydrated grapefruit, gin, whiskey (was it bourbon?) and mezcal. Dangerously tasty. She also is experimenting with cherries and other experiments that seem to be shining. Go visit them and try some of their offerings. Syd (sp?) was also a very nice tender.
Great experience, look forward...
Read moreThis place is top shelf. We where traveling from out of town and I’m a bourbon fan, so the wife an I decided to give it a shot. Man was I impressed. I’m very picky when it comes to bourbon an my old fashions. And I quickly found out these guys an gals aren’t amateurs. They are skilled bartenders and know the art of the pour. Get the old fashion with their bourbon (Rubicon Creek). My only issue is how I will get this stuff back home! Our dinner was great too, very nice selections to chose from. The service was impeccable. They know when to educate an entertain, and when to let you enjoy the atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to locals an...
