We were seated immediately, and our waitress gave us a pager. She said it will go off in about 5 -10 minutes, when it does proceed to the front and place your food order.
It was 30 - 35 minutes later when our pager finally went off. We ordered our food. And then we waited, and waited almost an hour before we got our appetizers. While we were waiting they came out to inform us that they ran out of the tater tots, so we ordered fried pretzel bites. Then they came out about 10 minutes later to tell us they were out of pretzel bites too.
So we ended up getting pretzel sticks and portabella fries, (I had hope, but they were pretty bad). Finally, like I said earlier, after nearly an hour since we ordered food, we got it.
My Chicken Poutine was great! My wife's Pot Roast Sliders, she loved. Our kids wings...well, they were cold.😠 They rushed and got them fresh wings in about 7 - 8 minutes. And the meal was good from there.
The drink situation was weird to me though. You had to pay a separate ticket because Warped Wing and the restaurant are apparently separate entities. Major brand cola (Coke/Mt Dew) was by the can only. They had their own house-made colas on tap, but we weren't interested. I did have a Tangerine Dream cider, and it was ok. My wife had a Margarita, and she loved it.
In closing, they don't seem to have grasp on the whole COVID-19 way of doing things though. It seemed like mass confusion from where we sat. They had seating at 50%, and weren't packed at all, but still this was experience we had. There was a family across from us who a manager called to their table too...so it may have not been just us.
Two big positives though:
The food was really good once everything got taken care of, (except the portabella fries, sorry those were just bad). My Poutine was some of the best I'd ever had. I would suggest having some seasoned fries or fried Cauliflower wings added to the menu.
The ambiance, (if I can use that word here), or environment was so cool! I loved eating in the old factory with the brewing going on, the 10 ton crane hanging from the ceiling and the glass brick...
Update: I tried their kitchen and I am impressed! I had their friend chicken sandwich with Buffalo sauce and I must say I was surprised. A hearty slab of fried chicken on a supportive bun with what tasted like a house made buffalo sauce puts warped wing as a contender for one of the best Buffalo chicken sandwiches I have had. And of course I had their Trotwood lime Lager to accompany it! My friends got the gyro salad and the spicy elk meatball sandwich and they gave their stamp of approval as well! Definitely recommend and will return.
Another excellent downtown Dayton Brewery! A very short walk from the Oregon district leads you to this renovated firehouse where many a great beer awaits. If you're looking for a classic the Flyer Red or the Gamma Bomb is for you, but with an array of options you can try different kinds of beer to your hearts delight. They often have different barrel aged beers in addition to seasonal experimental beers(I once had a mango habanero IPA) but if you ask the friendly bartenders they'll steer you so you can't go wrong. They do have a kitchen I have yet to try, but that'll have to wait for next time. I...
Read moreDec 9. In at 7:00 for beers and dinner. Beers familiar with, however menu board was a tad confusing, and difficult to read for someone with compromised eyesight due to the crazy colors, me. Black and white is fine. Two of our four party ordered food while the other two sorted beverage. Then my wife an I ordered. Smoked wings and Chunks. The other Smoked wings. Both fried asparagus. Our friends got theirs in about twenty minutes. Ours were finally out in nearly fifty. My asparagus was room cold. I returned it asking if anything could be done. I watched appalled, as it was fried again. I returned to the table to not enjoy my now thoroughly soggy meal. And between the four of us, we agreed that all the fried food didn't taste like anything but old bitter fry grease and the smoked wings were dry. We consolidated that any other local food truck we've hit would have tasted better, and be of better value. The whole drive home and an hour later my mouth still tastes like Burger King. Killing it with a glass of single malt. Unimpressed, won't be back. Sorry guys, but it just wasn't good. *Staff is very pleasant....
