I’ve been a long time supporter of this sandwich shop and they lost my business today. I sat at their empty patio before the lunch rush planning on ordering during my work lunch. I was approached by the owner who made it a point to tell me the patio was for paying customers, I let him know my plan and he repeated his statement. I asked if I should just order now and he, again repeated that if the patio filled I would be asked to leave. I shared I was uncomfortable and could just order a sandwich, he repeated that I again, would be asked to leave and then shared that “it didn’t matter what I said, but how I said it,” then asked me to leave. It was extremely unfortunate that he was unable to confirm that I should order a sandwich and instead blocked my exit to do so. I have promoted this establishment since their opening and will no longer be a supporter of their team, nor “safe” environment. A very disappointing experience.
An addendum since I was replied to: I posted my experience on Instagram and was affirmed by 5+ individuals that they’ve been treated similarly. I had no issue ordering— but was stopped BOTH times I attempted to get up to do so. Inaccurate? Who’s to say.. all I know is I...
Read moreToday was my very first time stopping in to Tony and Pete’s. I stumbled across this little place while grabbing coffee with a friend in the downtown area. Doors were opened a little earlier than the business hours, so we were asked to come back in a little bit and I’m really happy that we did! The day we visited was the very first day opening! The business had that “New Store” vibe. The staff was VERY friendly and welcoming. Several team members approached us during our visit which made the small business feel even more warm and inviting. They offered a wide variety of local products and merchandise like food, clothing, produce, novelty items and beer and wine! I was shocked to see a full, bar style, deli/restaurant located in the far back portion! They had many freshly prepared sandwiches, salads andsides to choose from. The team behind the counter seems friendly and they were willing to answer the few questions we tossed their way!
I made sure to grab a hat and a card with a crazy message doodled on the front to remind me of this new little spot in my favorite part of the city!
Give these guys a visit if you end up in the...
Read moreThis place is a standout for several reasons: the amazing food, the unique interior, and the well-curated grocery and wine sections.
First and foremost, the food is incredible. I had the vegan cold cut, which was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The bread was a French-style sub roll with just enough chew. The flavors were perfectly balanced, with the acids, fats, and the earthiness of the marinated tofu coming together beautifully.
The interior is clean and has a cool retro look while still feeling contemporary. They have an interesting selection of grocery items and a well-curated wine section. Although I didn't buy anything, it was clear that a lot of thought went into their selection.
The only downside is the seating arrangement, which could be improved. It felt a bit off and could be more comfortable.
Overall, if you're around Dayton, this spot is definitely worth checking out for its fantastic food and...
