Crabby Joe’s has been closed down since the damage from multiple hurricanes back to back in 2022. Ultimately the damage from Hurricane Ian forced the restaurant to close. It reopened today with quite a bang. I was there for a couple of hours and it was nonstop people and everyone seemed very pleased with the food and the atmosphere. I moved here to Daytona Beach Shores (not to be confused with Daytona Beach) just after all the damage and never knew the restaurant as locals had come to love. Now I am one of those locals and I thoroughly enjoyed myself here today. It’s a great atmosphere right on the water on Sunglow Pier. The food wasn’t perfect (pretty close) but what I loved was. The Clam Chowder ($7) was wonderful with soft clams that weren’t chewy and gritty and no sand in your teeth. The Fish and Chips ($18) were very crispy and delicious, but seemed as if they were frozen at some point as they became a bit mushy toward the end. But don’t get me wrong, it was tasty and a great deal of fish for the price. The crinkle cut fries were a nice addition. The slaw was non existent at this point. The star of the show was definitely the Royal Red Shrimp ($18) I ordered a half a pound of these giant succulent shrimp which were boiled in Old Bay seasoning and were easy to peel. You can get them cooked in other flavors. The only complaint I have about the whole experience were the sauces. All provided by Ken’s. As great as the food was, this was a disappointment since I know they could make better sauces. But I get it. And who cares anyways, I didn’t think the food didn’t need any sauces. The fish was perfectly fried crispy and juicy. But I’m not most people and most people want sauces. The shrimp needed nothing. Maybe a bib. 😂 I give it an A- and will definitely be back for the shrimp and grits. I will upgrade to Royal Red Shrimp for sure. Geez,that...

Let me start off with how amazing the views are at this restaurant. Out over the ocean and the sounds of waves crashing and seagulls is so relaxing, to me. After an almost hour wait we were finally seated. Very popular place for locals and tourists. Parking is a nightmare if you go around peak times. We went at 530 and by 6pm there were at least 10 + parties of people waiting for tables. By 7pm it had cleared out and there were plenty of tables available. $$$$. For 3 people to eat our bill was well over $150. Quality of food is not worth the price.

Let me start with the seating situation. Not ideal. We were just right inside the entrance and 1 table from the bar. High traffic area and the side doors were very popular. So was the wind gusts Everytime the door opened. Our waiter was friendly enough and attentive. Drinks were okay. I got a margarita (tasted very mixey). My boyfriend and mother got beer. We ordered the sampler and cheese curds for appetizers and they were basic. For dinner I had the crab cakes (not bad but have had better), my boyfriend had the coconut shrimp and he said they were pretty good. My mother had the fried shrimp. Again nothing you wouldn't get from a fast food seafood place. Very expensive for the quality of food. I guess we are paying for the view, atmosphere and mediocre setting. If a restaurant is going to charge $25+ for a dinner entree, I feel as if the employees should dress the part. Casual. Shorts and t-shirts. Not even ironed or nice shirts. Just old t-shirts and beat up shoes. I am not one to judge but if you want the return to match the quality,...

We were so disappointed. For their fish they served a fresh water farmed fish that was soft & slimey. We sent it back for Mahi. The Mahi was dry & tasteless with a ton of spices on it. The coleslaw tasted spoiled. The server gave us a choice of white potato fries or sweet potato fries, we chose sweet potato fries which came with an upcharge which we found about when we received the bill. Again the server did not inform us about upcharge. We went to a SEAFOOD restaurant & was served freshwater FARMED fish which the server never informed us. The fish was like a raw jellyfish. GROSS! I told the server i felt like the bill shoulbe dicounted because of the issues. Also, it is not comfortable to send food back to the kitchen. No discount for raw fish & spoiled coleslaw. I was taking my 90 yo mother to lunch. She has had a stroke & has difficulty expressing herself. When I take her out to eat, she usually cleans her plate in addition to the appetizer we all share. She loves fish & shrimp. She left ALL her fish less one bite & 2 pieces of shrimp out of 4 shrimp. She ate the sweet potato fries. I saw that she wasn't eating the fish or shrimp. I didn't know if she wasn't hungry or she didn't like the food either so I ordered some fries. She cleaned up the basket of fries. So she was still hungry & she didn't like the food either. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! I will never go back. We were looking for Crabby Oceanside (which is excellent) & couldn't find it so we went to Crabby Joe's Deck & Grill. ...
