Wow, been there many times with no issues, food and service always good......but, to my surprise today I just received the worst service I ever received anywhere in any restaurant......so bad my wife and I walked out. When entering the restaurant we waited at the entrance for a short period when a passing waitress had said, sit anywhere you would like........there was only one small booth available, all other seats available were in the center of the restaurant. So we chose a booth next to the bar and window. Immediately after sitting down a waitress walks by and my wife overhears her saying (under her breath, she thought), "they just couldn't sit at a clean table"!!! She was right about one thing, the table was a mess, no biggie, we just really could not believe how big of slobs the previous customers were.......moments later the same waitress returns to clean the table and you could tell she was just pissed off that we had sat there, so I just tried to make small talk trying to be sympathetic about the mess the previous pigs had left her.......that's when she proceeded to tell us that's why we don't like people to sit down before a table is cleaned, loudly slamming the salt & pepper shakers in their place on the table. I then pointed out to our unhappy waitress that my wife overheard her comment as she had walked by us, again excusing her comment with the same logic..........my response of course was, "I will sit where the hell I want to sit", not to mention the entry sign did not say, "wait to be seated" and another waitress had told us to sit wherever we wanted. Amazingly she was so surprised we were leaving after the exchange of words .........what a joke, this was absolutely the worst treatment by any server in my life, her never once indicating she was acting inappropriately. Maybe she was having a bad day I don't know, but with servers like that you will lose business Mike. And not that it matters, no, I'm not a tourist, I'm a local........who plans to be vocal and spread the word. Just coming in to have a breakfast with my wife, no hurries, all good, until we received the rude treatment from a member of your staff........and continuing to employ staff like this is a bad reflection on the business and its owners!!! An absolute joke.........
**REVIEW FOLLOW UP-----It would be totally unfair to the owners and management if I did not take the time for this follow up regarding our unfortunate incident at Mike's Galley. I followed this google review up with a phone call and ended up speaking with Jill, one of the owners, (Mike's wife). I most definitely can say from our conversation and how I my message/complaint was treated that this "one waitress's" treatment of us is in no way a reflection of ownership attitude. Jill was appalled at what happened offering a sincere apology for the actions of this staff member and I'm confident our conversation will be discussed with their employee's as to how care for customers. I've always liked the place and never any issues, I'm certain I will someday return to the only restaurant I've ever walked out of!!!! ...
Read moreWe were visiting the area for the week and had been in once already this week and had a great experience so we came back to try the food again. We were seated by a super friendly lady that also brought our drinks. We sat and waited for our waitress to acknowledge us. During this time noticed a waitress at a table nearby receiving a complaint about an item that had onions in it and she proceeded to ask the customer well did you even try it. She rolled her eyes at that customer and went to the register and continued to look in the direction of that customers table and give them dirty looks. when she finished she went on about doing other things and finally as she came by said something to a guest at our table about being right back. Again we waitedMy husband flagged her down and she said she would be right there. She went into the back and came back with a coffee pot and started refilling coffee in other tables so my husband went to ask her if she was going to take our order. She got huffy and said will get you another waitress. She came back and said that she was the better of the options of waitressses so we were stuck with her. She took our order and was gone. We had to flag her down for anything neededThe food was phenomenal but the service was horrific. Then as we were leaving she stopped my husband to make a comment and ask him if he complained and told them how he had "bullied " her. I am appaulled at her behavior and her service. No business should defend an employee behaving like she didThe manager at the front only had the comment "oh we just love our Ouida here". Sad sad customer service skills. Do better...
Read moreWorst food and worst service I can ever recall having. It took us more than 5 min to be noticed standing at the front door to be seated, then at least another 5 to actually be seated. Our waitress took our drink order, food order brought our food, and then we saw her 2 other times between getting our check. Which, btw, we asked for and she took 5 min to get, then passed by and said she therw it away and will reprint in a min and we watched her take a drink order, go to another table to collect plates, printed their check, went in to get another table's food, took a coffee refill to another table, then was headed for another drink refill and glanced our way and remembered, then stopped at the printer (which she passed at least 6x in the process) and brought us the check. (All of that sounds like she was busy, but that was at least a 7 min time period, all while not moving quickly, they were very slow at the time, as they were getting ready to close for the holiday). I asked for a box and someone else even brought that to us. Worst attitude, barely spoke, and when she did, it was with very poor attitude, almost a mumble. The home fries were burned hard pieces, aside from a few huge chunks of potato, then didn't have onion and peppers like she asked me if I wanted ...the turkey bacon was so hard my boys couldn't eat it, the pancakes were tough, and my husband's French toast wasn't done in the middle. Such and awful experience, that cost $$52! So unbelievably not...
