Hello, I just came to the restaurant and the waiter was very nice to everyone at the table. The problem was, P.F. Chang’s just recently offered a menu where two people can order a three course menu for $20. They also offered us a Happy Hour menu and the regular menu (3 menus total). Someone else and I opted for the three course option and the waiter told us that each of us can get one soup/salad, one appetizer and one entree. When the bill came, we were informed that the appetizer green beans was charged full price but the other app. was included in the $20 price. Before we learned about this $20 three course meal, we originally ordered the green beans as the happy hour special since it was offered but changed our order when the waiter explained that each person can order one of each off the three course menu. At the time, we thought this was a great value and the waiter said it wouldn’t be a problem with the change. This three course menu was new to both customers and the staff. This situation was just miscommunicated, so when the waiter said they would try to charge us the happy hour price instead (like a $3 difference anyway) to make up for it. The waiter came back and said their manager, Sam, refused the discount. Someone at the table asked for the manager so we could explain the situation. Sam, dark hair, short and a millennial, was seen giving a hard time to our waiter, when us as customers prefaced saying that it wasn’t the waiter’s fault. It was simply a new menu and as customers we relied on the waiter to know the menu better than us. Sam did not make an effort to make the situation right and instead started arguing with us. At this point, we could’ve argued that the green beans should’ve been free for making customers have to ask for the right pricing but we didn’t. We asked for the happy hour pricing since we originally asked for it and again, when we made the switch to the three course the waiter said it was okay and there shouldn’t be a problem. So when Sam started her argument, she said that they were still learning their menu as well but was basically saying it was our fault. It’s not about the price at this point, it’s the principle of arguing with the customer instead of making things right. When three people were trying to communicate the situation the manager should listen but Sam didn’t, she simply didn’t care. The P.F. Changs at the Daytona Speedway, there were no complaints about the food or atmosphere or waiter, just the manager with poor customer service skills and was lacking in the hospitality department. The points she tried to bring up were not checking out since they contradicted each other and she even admitted that she and the staff were still learning the menu. As customers, we rely on the staff to know the menu(s) and prices and it is their duty to also double check before ringing in an order/let the customers know if the menus...
Read moreIn person I had a good experience here once before in the past, but what I experienced tonight with this restaurant was appalling. I spent $70 on a meal here (not including the tip and drivers fee) through Uber eats, and my order was horrible. The quality of the chicken that I ordered was so bad that I couldn’t eat it. The chicken was so cold and old that it was all stuck together and hard in the case, as well as receiving the wrong rice with my order. I also ordered a dessert that tasted horrible, didn’t come with the ice cream, and came with a RANCID, EXPIRED, DISGUSTING raspberry topping. I couldn’t believe how sour and disgusting it smelled! The plastic container it was in was popping up from the expired sizzle of the product! I couldn’t believe they put that in with my order! The missing and disgusting items were not the Uber drivers fault because the entire bag was completely sealed. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager, and the first offer to me was that I should drive over there and pick up my ice cream. After I told her that driving in the rain all the way over there after I had already spent money for a delivery driver to bring it to me, on top of telling her for the third time that I was unhappy with the vast majority of the order and not just my ice cream, that I wasn’t going to do that. I had to tell her multiple times that I think they could do much better than that after I had just spent so much money to get such a horrible dinner. In the end, the best that she could do is mail me a gift card for $15 to “maybe” $25. That’s not even half of the price of what I paid for my order. I should have received a full refund for this disappointing, cold, EXPIRED and improper order. I noticed the rancid raspberry sauce later in the night while cleaning up, so I haven’t even been able to tell management about that yet. I have to wonder just how long something like that had to be sitting around for it to get that bad. That is a serious health concern serving food like that! I had to throw 90% of my order away it was so bad. I’m never ordering from them again! I couldn’t BELIEVE how expired that sauce was. That’s what they threw in with my food on top of everything...
Read moreThe Dynamite Roll was spicy and perfect. The Street Noodles we didn't anticipate being spicy (no flame next to the name on the menu), but they were almost as spicy as the Dynamite Roll. We loved them, but if you don't like the heat, then these probably aren't for you. We also ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen, which was delicious, but surprisingly, not as spicy as the other two dishes.
The kids loved their chicken lo mein and the honey chicken entree we ordered to balance the spiciness of the rest of our selections created an amazing harmony of flavors that really balanced the meal. We went for a birthday celebration and were surprised that we had to ask our waitress for the dessert menu and that the customary free dessert (or discounted meal) for the birthday boy/girl at a lot of other restaurants, was definitely not customary here.
Overall, the service was ok. We went later in the evening (after 9), so it wasn't crowded, but with it being the start of Bike Week, I can imagine that they were probably very busy shortly before we arrived. Our waitress was noticeably overwhelmed and frustrated, which showed in the level of service we received (we had to get up and ask for our own refills on one occasion and on another, a different waitress stopped when they saw we were empty, had to ask twice for to-go boxes and the check, etc.), although she was still nice and made an effort through her evident desire to be elsewhere, to share a laugh here and there. We think she might have been pulling a double or just had some difficult customers before we arrived. Or at least we hope. Either way, we'd happily go back to PF Chang's another day and give her another chance. We all have those days.
Overall, a 5 on food, sanitizing and ambience, and a 3 on service, but will give the service another shot and rating 5...
