Clean, Very Clean!! Plus each & every person on the staff at this hotel were the nicest, most polite crew we ever met. Any thing we asked for or about was responded to immediately & with a smile. After we checked in they somehow even remembered our names, which we were impressed with made us feel even more welcome. I have allergies & am VERY picky. The cleanliness of our room was Excellent even the A/C filters were spotless plus no stinky hotel room smells. I did find a few Tiny spots on the bathroom floor (which could have come from my shoes at the Nascar track) & when I mentioned it they moped the floor immediately & I mean immediately. The rooms are good sized & the beds are comfortable. Prices were Excellent especially considering our stay was for a Nascar event. This hotel is Directly across from the Racetrack, so no headache parking for the event, just stay in your hotel spot & walk across the street. My husband is handicapped & was able to go to & from the track in his scooter Very easily & quickly. Breakfast had everything we liked both hot & cold, every day it was hot & fresh. There were waffles. yogurt, sausage, eggs, fresh fruit & more. Lemonade & Coffee Always available & fresh. We even stayed an extra day (very cheap rates) to just rest after hectic Nascar weekend. Only downside was no pool but really we don't use it during Nascar trip. There was a small exercise room that we didn't use but it looked very clean too. We absolutely will be back because this hotel is situated very near 95 & 4 (but not on top of them) so it's a midpoint to Orlando, Jacksonville, St Augustine etc. The grounds at this hotel are So well kept there were even rocking chairs with clean, padded seats to just relax in. It's very rare to find a hotel this clean & well kept anywhere. We have stayed in expensive, luxury hotels in the area that were by no means as clean & well kept...
Read moreWe absolutely loved our stay here! The room was updated. The reception desk - bright, modern, welcoming. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful. We were greeted with a smile. When I checked in - I was hoping for a first floor room. This is an old school hotel - with 2 stories (with outside access to the second floor by stairs). Fortunately, we got a first floor room - that was quiet, convenient - and super clean. I loved that we could park 30 feet from our room door. It made it easy to unload and load our car. Forgot something? Just a quick walk to the car. Irene the breakfast coordinator was fabulous! A fellow Canadian she was friendly, personable and helpful. We showed up a bit early for breakfast on Saturday morning, but she had everything ready for us asap - and we got everything we could want before we left the hotel for the day. The breakfast area was stocked and was super clean. It's obvious that she takes pride in her job. The only criticism I have (and it's not a big one) - is that an extra 3 prong plug would have been nice in our room near the bed. One side had a great usb and 3 prong plug set up. My side of the bed, did not. I was able to unplug the clock radio to charge my phone and I used the 3 prong plug at the desk to charge my laptop. The proximity to the Speedway is well... it's right across the street. If you want a place to stay with a very short walk to the raceway - it's literally right across the street. Although it is a bit more than we usually pay for a nights stay - it was worth it. The great reviews are right on the money. I do read reviews and it had the highest rating of all the Choice Hotels in the area - and I understand why! Worth the money! Definitely a "higher end feel" - to what is normally considered a middle of the road chain. Both me and my travel companion were impressed. ...
Read moreWe stayed here for 4 nights while we helped move our daughter into college in the area and attend orientation. We were impressed with several things at this establishment. First of all: Customer service! From the first night when Devante checked us in, we were treated like special guests. Tony, the head maintenance person, saw us in the parking lot the first morning and asked if we needed help unloading our car or anything else. We told him it seemed like the air conditioner in our room wasn't putting out cold enough air. He immediately went to the room and began fixing it. Deborah, the general manager, stood at the reception desk in the mornings and greeted people as they came in for breakfast. She was so friendly and helpful when we told her we were going to St. Augustine after we left Daytona. When we saw the owner once at breakfast, he stopped and chatted with us for a few minutes. Second of all: The breakfast experience. I appreciated the woman who worked hard at stocking items. There were many choices including sausage patties and eggs that could be put on a biscuit and made into a sandwich, gravy for the biscuits, cereal, bread/English muffins for toast, oatmeal, many yogurt choices, pancakes or waffles, and fresh fruit. I also liked the refurbished lobby with the second floor loft that overlooked the main floor. There were two tables up there that we loved sitting at in the morning. Thirdly: the location. It is located directly across from the Daytona International Speedway. Also, there are many other retail shops and restaurants conveniently located near this motel. Lastly: The rocking chairs and outdoor seating. Even though this motel is located on a busy street, sitting in the sun in a rocking chair was peaceful. We would stay here again when we are in the area! Well done, Quality...
