Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Dearborn Heights

This franchise has always been a favorite of mine for the freshest salad bar around. That being said. It's a great place to relax and know you're business is appreciated. Different Hostes of course, and they can make or break a good waitress that are more worthy than others. And yes. Some waitresses have been mistreated hence their..I don't know. Frustration perhaps and understandable as patrons sometimes forget they are there to please you. And they hustle to please and satisfy you. Some are. Some aren't. That is life. I get it. However they have new things on their menu and those ribs- I've been back 5 times in a week just to share with others. They already had an have great tasting fresh food. They have just imploded with even better as you will see in the photos. And the waitress that had only served me once before remembered us and made our experience on point! Not to mention the wonderful willingness to see us happy. Her name. T'kaia. I am not normally surprised nor impressed and she did both. Simply waiting on us. It took all the negative energy we got from our host of that day. 9-6-23 11:30AM all away. Thank goodness. Whewww a I am very sensitive and can not eat if I feel I'm not wanted inside. I know. TMI. It's ok. I'm just saying. A Hostes can make or break any heart business sadly. I'm thankful and grateful T' Kaia WAS within my comfort space and she over road the negative Hostess. I was about to turn and take my husband with me. She did not seem happy to be there or care of we were there. That's insulting. So thank you RUBY TUESDAY for hiring T'kaia. My husband, friend and I just tried having dinner here. Left not even 5 minutes ago that was by far the worst service and food ive had and experienced. I really wish i remembered our waitress' name, but she was awful. Never once asked how our food was and instantly had an attitude when i asked to talk to a manager. Potato soup had barely any potatoes in it, brisket quesadilla was salty 2 of the pieces actually had brisket in them i had asked for mexi ranch by the time i got it my food was almost gone (she blamed the kitchen which as a server myself im almost positive she just forgot about it since the building WAS NOT busy) and i was never checked to explain the brisket problem so being hungry i ate it and decided to point it out and get one to go.

Ordered carry out it took 40 minutes to get it then only got one of the 2 items.. At this point we were completely fed up and just wanted our bill and told them to keep the 2nd to go item.

Manager said she took a bunch of stuff off our bill for the food and horrible service yet we get a bill for $10.00 more then what it was. I had asked for the to go i didnt want to be taken off which wasnt done. So when i mentioned it to the server she got snippy and said she would take it off.

On top of all of this when my husband asked for boxes for his food that was good enough to not complain about but nothing special it took her 3 trips to bring the containers we originally asked for..

Although we've had decent service here before, our most recent visit was pretty frustrating. I chose Applebee's over another restaurant because I thought it would be faster and we had some other things to do. We arrived at about 5:30pm. It was a bit busy, but we were seated quickly. Our waiter let us know he was new which was fine and we placed our order before 6pm. He brought our drinks out within a reasonable time. But then we realized it was getting close to 6:30. My husband went to the wait staff station to ask why our food was taking time and said they seemed helpful. No one came by to check on us so 10 minutes laster he asked again. He said it seemed like maybe the more experienced staff were showing our waiter something on the computer system. Finally at 6:45pm he went and asked if manager could come speak to us since no one had been by our table since we got our drinks. A manager came up but he seemed quite inexperienced and confirmed our concern that our order had just been put in. We were polite, but it was incredibly frustrating. Our food was great when it came and the woman (another manager?) who came to our table the remainder of the evening was great. I do feel they should have comped part of the meal, but they didn't. I'm hoping future visits will be better and our situation was just a one time thing. I'll update my review if I have better experiences in the future. I do know we won't be going here any more if we have less than an hour to...
