Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Dearborn Heights

6/17/20- 7pm, called to place an order. I was immediately placed on hold. I drove with my phone on hold, literally a mile and a half to the store. I arrived and there were at least 10 people who had already ordered and were waiting on their smoothies. I stepped up to the register. I'm the only one in line to order. my phone is still on hold. I hear the manager say somebody get the phone. nobody gets the phone. I'm still on hold. I hear after five more minutes the manager say somebody get the phone. finally a guy walks up in front of me while I'm standing at the register waiting to order, answer the phone and I say I'm the one on hold. I drove all the way here from home and I've been on hold for 17 minutes and 41 seconds. He says oh I'm sorry. I make my order and I wait. since I've been waiting there's a line behind me that's grown to at least 10 people. The guy that was directly behind me gets his smoothie before I did, so I walk up to the counter and I say I ordered before him how did he get his smoothie before me. oh let me check says the young lady up front. My smoothie is sitting at the drive-thru window, why I don't know. Awful awful customer service. I will never go back to that...

My first time visiting Tropical Smoothie, I came in to try the new Apple Pie smoothie. It was honestly one of the best smoothies I’ve had in a while, the restaurant was clean and I was the only person in there so my order was taken promptly and prepared great. The only complaint I have is the customer service I received was dismal. The cashier was drinking something when I entered didn’t bother to greet me when I came in or when I approached the register. I stood there for a moment waiting for a “hello “ or “what can I get you?” And she just stared at me. So I placed my order and another customer came in and a different customer came in and another cashier came gave him a friendly greeting and took his order. When my order was ready she did walk around the counter and hand me my drink, but no thank you, enjoy your smoothie she just turned and walked away. Rude and inconsiderate customer service like this tells me you don’t want my patronage, so I definitely won’t be returning. Making your customer feel unwelcome is no way to run a business. For the 3rd time in the last 2 weeks I have ordered the 3 cheese chicken quesadilla and each time either I get no sauce or a 1/3 of a cup of sauce and a few sprinkles of cheese and a few tiny pieces of chicken making half of it just the empty tortilla on both ends without even cheese on it. Have called twice to complain before and I should not have to drive back up there to show them each time. Extremely disappointed and angry at the new norm of substandard product. I love their quesadillas but it has gone down hill in the last two weeks. I spend a Lot of money at Tropical smoothie cafes and I’m thinking I need to find a new smoothie place. $6 for about 75 cents of food is not good business 😐 I’d take a picture but I was angry and fed it to the dog.
