This is my go to place for my seasonings. It's great place to get a small amount of things you need. I like the large selection of candies there but I dare not get any candy that is not wrapped because I was there a couple weeks ago and saw a man who was getting Orange Slices out the bin with his nasty naked hands . What made me look is I heard something dropping and I turned around and saw orange slices on the floor and there this man was in the bin with his bare hand and NOT THE SCOOPER that's provided for you. So I got like 4 steps in from of him and was able to take pictures of him doing this without him giving zero cares about stopping! I don't eat Orange Slices and never will from this place! I started to tell somebody who works there but then I left it alone because I'm sure this guy comes in there on a regular basis and does this. Y'all it's the orange slices located in the back of the store. Ask them to get you fresh ones if you are buying them. I will post the picture to show you. If this is your people explain to him it's nasty to use your bare hands in a bin of unwrapped candy that he doesn't own! Perhaps he doesn't know that he is not suppose to do that! 🤔I pray to God he hasn't been over in the seasoning bins 😶. In the picture with the man in it, blow it up you'll see the scooper still in the bin while he's digging candy out with his hands. I started to video tape...
Read moreFirst timer and Drove 20 mins because I checked out the pictures and reviews and wow was I disappointed with the opposite experience!
Overall it seemed like a nice enough spot but the obvious lack of cleaning of the container lids and the handles of the scoops.. there's no way I could every buy any bulk product for here. Cleanliness is the name of the game at this type of establishment I can say it looked dirtier than a crappy truck stops glass door and that's really bad.
Cons-
-Filthy container lids on. Almost every single one! I am not talking about condition of the lid but the filthy handprints covering them...
-Tons of empty or low bins!? Dearborn is a pretty large city..but it's impossible that it all sold out today.
-Weak selection of candy overall plus the Chocolate pricing at 19.99 for some items I usually buy at another bulk store a few mins south half that price...
Pros- -Employee greeted my wife and I when we walked in.
-Alot of spices and herbs as well as dried fruits
Recommendations- If this was my store I would immediately implement a cleaning schedule because it would really help first impression...
Read moreBeen to this place a few times. Ironically, there's a review that was just posted that mentioned about the jelly belly candies being hard. I only buy a select few(the reds and licorice) and on more than one occasion, the one flavor of the reds were hard. I'm guessing its due to the bin the candy is set up in; a partition on the front of the bins is like a display that houses actual candy, and I assume a few of those got mixed in with the fresh ones. The reds get sold out regularly, so they should be usually fresh. I am definitely more careful after eating some of them, lol.
Other than that its a good place. Most things are kept in stock, and the older woman and younger woman are pretty nice and hospitable. They can make a nice milkshake(as well as other drinks) and you get a lot of it for what you pay for. Definitely MUCH better than their Westland branch; that place...
