Kerby's Koney Island — Restaurant in Dearborn

INCREDIBLE food and staff. Been a customer for over 15 years but just can't justify ordering from them again. Here's why... The delivery service they use (Door Dash) picked up someone else's order and delivered it to me. I called Kerby's and they DID see that MY order was still waiting on the counter to be picked up. Kerby's was incredibly nice and said they would call Door Dash and make it right. They let me know that Door Dash was going to send a driver for the correct order. After an hour of not hearing anything from Kerby's OR DoorDash, I called Door Dash myself. And EVEN THOUGH KERBYS called them to tell them they picked up the wrong order and they told Kerbys they would send another driver, they never did. I was told by Door Dash that they would NOT:

1. Refund my Money
2. Send a driver to pick up my CORRECT order.
3. Didn't care that I spent almost $30 for $5 worth of food.

I have NEVER heard of Door Dash picking up the wrong order, being told BY the restaurant they picked up the wrong order... Only for Door Dash to tell the restaurant they would send a driver for the correct meal yet tell me they won't send another driver to pick my MY order. I'm SURE people at Kerby's remembers this even though it was a little while ago, because SOMEONE would have complained that They got my food instead of their own, and the fact that Kerby's was nice enough to TRY to make it right. (They seemed pretty upset at DoorDash for the mess-up).

I feel bad giving Kerby's a low score but I honestly don't know what else to do as I am handicapped and need to get food delivered, but I can't work with a place who uses a service that BOTH lies to them (about sending someone else to get the right order) AND directly steals money from customers... After all, I paid almost $30 for ONE CONEY!

SO sorry Kerby's but Door Dash just lost a 15 year...

Me and my mother originally were going to get an to-go order, bur we decided to dine in. We were immediately greeted by a woman named Rachel and told us where we would be seated. The both of us decided to go to the restroom. It was clean, and small, with two stalls. The size surprised me, but it was not a problem. We sat down and Rachel took our drink orders. I got a Raspberry Lemonade and my mother got a Sprite. Our drinks came with separate cups of ice, and we were informed there are no free refills. I thought my lemonade tasted too fake? It was just sweet but it tasted it wasn't because of sugar. Anyways, I ordered the 5 Way Fries and a Gyro, while my mom got a Coney Dog with Fries. When they gave us our order, I noticed that they gave us both normal fries and I informed our waitress of that. She fixed it for me rather quickly, which I was happy about. Our food was delicious! We took a bite from each of our meals. I was surprised that Coney Dogs are only 99¢ this month.. After our meal, my mom wanted to get Coney Dogs for four more people. Then things started to get weird. In the kitchen area, you can hear chefs/waiters arguing, and I heard plates smash on the floor. I was confused & concerned. After a few minutes we got our order and left. Our experience was decent. We eat here more so than any other Coney Island so we've always liked their food. We've just never ate inside. Overall,...

I'd been to this Kerby's nearly a decade ago and it was so good. It has completely fallen off and the food is not made with care or even decency. The waitresses/hostess are nice, everyone you see/speak with is nice, but the person making the food doesn't care and you can taste the neglect. The tuna, itself, was tasty, but put into a dry scorched sandwich form. How do you mess up a tuna melt?! It's easy!

The prices don't reflect hit or miss meal chances so you may end up paying for crap and wanting your money back. That was the case for me w/the meal fail I sent back part of, then still received a scorched bread tuna melt and my to-go lemonade which allowed me a 1st time experience in life of drinking up a long blonde hair through my straw. 🤢 Disgusting. I should've sent back the tuna melt too, but I was tired and wanted a meal, not a challenge! I didn't know I had to send back each dish to enjoy it. I called and suggested they enforce hair nets but I really wish I had my $30 back from that struggle meal they served me. Aside from sending back meals in the moment, they don't really have options to remedy the poor experience, so skip this location if you don't want to be disappointed and possibly grossed out too.
