I am writing this review as a DoorDash driver to share my incredibly disappointing experience with the staff at The Terry Melt restaurant. Their unprofessional behavior not only frustrated me but also led to the cancellation of an order, which greatly inconvenienced both myself and the customer I was delivering to.
Upon arriving at The Terry Melt to pick up an order, I encountered an uncooperative and discourteous staff. Their lack of professionalism was evident from the moment I walked in. The staff members seemed disinterested and dismissive, which made it difficult for me to perform my job efficiently.
When I asked for assistance in locating the order, I was met with indifference and a complete lack of willingness to help. The staff's unresponsiveness and unhelpful attitude only exacerbated the situation. As a result, I was unable to retrieve the order and deliver it to the customer who was eagerly waiting for their meal.
The unprofessional conduct I experienced at The Terry Melt not only wasted my time but also affected my ability to earn income. DoorDash drivers rely on prompt service from restaurants to ensure timely deliveries. The staff's careless behavior directly impacted my ability to fulfill my responsibilities and provide a satisfactory experience to the customer.
I strongly urge The Terry Melt management to address this issue promptly. It is imperative that they prioritize training their staff in the importance of professionalism, customer service, and cooperation with delivery drivers. This will not only improve working relationships between the restaurant and delivery drivers but also enhance the overall dining experience for customers.

First off the mobile ordering system should have sped things up, but it took 45 minutes to get our order which was made wrong. Granted it was a weekday afternoon, with the entire canteen being near empty, I should have tapered my expectations I guess. Before mobile deliveries are brought into question; not a single ordered item was picked up during our wait. The staff didn’t bother calling names of finished orders and the automated system didn’t send a notification that our order was done. I personally got up and checked multiple times if the order was ready, only to see it sitting there getting cold on my final ask.
We waited 45 minutes for two melts with lukewarm sourdough, chicken with spicy mayo and stale fries; only to realize that one melt was somehow made incorrectly. After pointing out the inconsistencies the staff stated, “We can remake it but it’s going to take a while we’re busy”. To be clear, remake the one sandwich but not the fries. So either one guest has to eat and then wait for the other; or one guest has to let their food get cold and then also wait for the other’s order? How long were we supposed to wait another 45 minutes? You’re charging sit down resturant prices so the expectations are higher. The correct thing to do would have been to remake the entire order and expedite it.
The sanitary practices of this food truck should also be looked into. I witnessed one staff member use the same gloves to handle cash, pack food, play with his phone, swipe back his hair multiple times and walk to a car to get a bag of lettuce. Why are gloves not being changed? Why is fresh produce being stored in a hot car sitting in the parking lot next to the food truck?
Lastly since the owner of this food truck also is involved in the ownership of the Canteen itself, it would be wise to have the other staff empty the piled up garbage cans by the seating area. Nothing makes a long wait worst than the scent of hot garbage.

Read moreMy family and I order from here at least 2 times a week they even sent me a rewards card cuz I go so often, my brother orders almost everyday, I never complain cuz I've worked in the food industry for many years, but the passed 3 times I ordered they forgot to put the bacon on my chicken bacon melt, the first 2 times my husband wouldn't let me call and complain cuz he said people make mistakes, so this time when I ordered I let them know about the passed 2 orders and they apologized and said they wouldn't forget this time.... unfortunately they did so I called and they told me to drive all the way back with my sandwich and let them add it to the sandwich, no apology no nothing, not that I need a discount but I'm well known there they could have offered something a little more convenient for me since they're in the wrong not once or twice but 3 times, I will not be going back and I will let my brother know how upset I am about this experience and I'm sure they will lose a few customers due to this unprofessional response to something that a simple apology or maybe 10% off my next order could have fixed, I didn't even want a discount I just wanted acknowledgement and something more than drive all the way back with ur cold sandwich and we will add the bacon for u, I'm very disappointed because they're food and...
