This establishment just lost a valuable customer. My family and I have been coming here for years. I decided to dine in today to just have an occasional meal like I pretty much always do, and I was told to sit anywhere I like and then immediately asked for my id. 2 things came to mind—why is she asking for my ID(I have NEVERRR been asked for my id before and I sit down here all the time.) The only time I remembered ordering food to go was since Covid. Secondly, why wasn’t I greeted as a valued customer. I am from New Orleans and the reason why I loved this place so much because it reminded me of home. Well, NOT today. So, as I asked the server why is she checking my id she said bc we were in a “bar”—I told her ma’am I come in here all the time and this has never happened to me. So I then asked when did this start? She didn’t have an answer. I asked her to let me speak to someone higher than you. So a guy comes and ask me if I was of age with an attitude like why he has to go through this and I told him uh yes! At this point they both haven’t greeted me and now I’m really annoyed. I asked him the same question when did this start? He proceeds to tell me that I haven’t gotten carded before because I probably looked a certain way but now they need to see ID. I told him I have spent hundreds of dollars here and again, I want to know when did this start. He walked me over to a sign that he says they JUST put up a couple of days ago. They have it posted on a pole that is NOT customer facing and hidden beside a staircase and he said there’s another one upstairs. He literally made my point while telling me this and I’m sure he knew it by now. He said I shouldn’t fault the server for doing her job—plus she’s new. I corrected him and said NO she’s not doing her job and since she is new, no one trained her on customer service. The very first thing that should’ve came out her mouth once I sat down was, hello, welcome in, how are you? What would you like to order?
Just to add I did not sit at a bar—NOR was going to order alcohol. Smh. I sat away from the bar at a random table. This was a terrible experience. I value my dollar where I am personally valued as a customer. All of my NOLA people will be hearing about this one because we have great hospitality and many people will travel in GA for anything close to a...
Read moreFirst time here, Went in Sunday afternoon after watching the Falcons lose,..(a friend's suggestion) lol 😆 When we walked in we we greeted by a friendly cashier, she asked us if it was here or to go, it was for dine in, they had about 2 high tops that seats 4 people, We were looking for our friend who said he was there but we did not see him. She told us that we could be seated in the "basement bar" which was right to our left. We we went downstairs and boy was I blow away! It's a very New Orleans theme dive bar!! They had plenty of seating, pool tables, arcade games, and plenty of TVs to watch football games on! And there was our friend!! Sitting patiently waiting on us! Our server greeted us ans we ordered some apps. Fried pickles, gator bites, and cheese dip. He got us waters, and I hear the hurricanes are really good there. Food came out pretty quickly and we ordered our meals. I decided on the catfish po'boy fully dressed (lettuce, tomatoes, and mayo) w a small fry for and additional fee. The others had the red beans and rice, gumbo, and I believe the crawfish platter. The gator bites were really tender and delicious, the pickles were breaded very nicely and had a tang that I like to them My po'boy was delicious!! (Fried of course) the bread wasn't too hard it had the right amount of crunch to it. I did taste the red beans and rice and gumbo (which was made from a dark roux fyi) Everything tastes delicious and had the right amount of seasonings to it. The food runner had forgotten the fries when he brought everything out, we just reminded our server ( we were also in the middle of a shift change, which explains why we didn't have anyone to check on us for a while) and they were quickly brought to our table. I also like the fact that they have handled card readers, so u can pay for your food right at the table in oppose to the server taking your card. Overall I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. It's a hidden gem, that I never would have gone to with out the...
Read moreVisited on a Saturday afternoon with the family. We entered and there was a register, kitchen, and a few tables. The lady at the register told us that there was a downstairs, aka basement, with more tables, TVs, and a bar if we wanted to sit there. Of course we chose the basement option. Walking into the basement gives you a little bit of Mardi Gras vibe with the colors and decorations, it was also more lively with the TVs and the conversations of the people down there. I like the concept and believe it was executed well. We chose a table and while we waited for a server we grabbed a few more menus since there was only one at the table. For appetizer, I chose fried pickles and my sister ordered crawfish pies, and we ordered a round of waters for the table. Our server also brought over a couple of drink menus. For our meals, my sister and I ordered the regular fried vegetarian po boy, and she got fries. My dad ordered the small blackened catfish po boy with fries. My husband ordered the regular alligator po boy with fries. 2 beers and a lemon drop were also ordered. Crawfish pies were ok. Could've used a little more flavor. Fried pickles were good and I enjoyed the remoulade dipping sauce that it came with. I appreciated that there was a vegetarian option and the po boy was good. Nice size, flavor, crunch. Alligator po boy was good with a nice portion of fried alligator. Catfish po boy was also good. Fries were good with a nice crunch and good seasoning. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we enjoyed our time...
