Tldr; Deserves some sort of award if they don't have one already
Super nice staff (all with amazing fashion sense btw) bringing out delicious thing after delicious thing. We didn't just have dinner, we had a dining experience. You could taste the creativity and skill -- every single part of the experince felt intentional. It's more upscale than your average restaurant, but not in a stiff and snobby way -- moreso just artisans doing their thing and doing it very well, so it elevates the experience. My husband and I tried as many things as we could, and it was all incredible -- no skips. The cocktails were so unique and interesting, yet balanced and incredibly drinkable. The food was similar -- everything had a an interesting twist to it, but went down like comfort food. I ate every single last bite and savored it till the very end.
The place had a very welcoming atmosphere, everything was clean, it was decorated but not overdone, there were options for different dietary needs, and all gender bathrooms. Might seem like small things, but as someone that does events for work, they matter and add up and don't happen by themselves. If I had to sum up this place in two words I would say: Intentionality & Balance
Despite being married to a chef/mixologist/craft brewer, I'm actually an extremely picky eater & drinker. Times when I've enjoyed more than one or two things on the menu at a place have been very few and far between, much less the whole damn menu. I even ordered dessert, which I never do.
A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped us last night! This is a really special place. I can't wait...
Read moreI didn’t want to have to write this. We’ve eaten here 3 times now. First time was near opening; experience was promising. Second time we went in at 8:45 on a Friday late summer for food because they listed being open til 10-10:30 at the time, but they rushed us out after the first bites of dinner saying oh is that good, do you want to box up the rest. The third time my wife’s app, the fall toast using Iggy’s bread which is always stale, was inedible, even after several tries. Another squash app was a halved squash with just jam on top. Her “Winter Luxury Pasta” as named on the menu consisted of uncooked Brussel sprouts and pasta so mushy and flavorless my Italian soul was crushed. The cherry on top was instead of giving me the fried chicken sandwich with a hand breaded chicken thigh (none of that generic crap at most places, said the bartender) which I ordered, mine consisted of a roll, 3 children’s chicken tenders and some weird flavorless carrot slaw on top, which I wish I mentioned at the time but was so eager to leave I didn’t. After quietly letting them know during each course our issues, unprovoked they refunded our entire meal and gave us a gift card. Not a good sign for this...
Read moreWines by the bottles are excellent in terms selection. Unfortunately, we ordered one round of aperitif’s, tried the appetizers, and asked for the bill. Planning on staying all night changed up after the food came. Great wine selection from old world, and the Americas, as well as novel countries in Europe and Africa.
The food was really sub par. The bread was stale which we paid $8 for, it was taken off the check when we left, thank you. The beet salad had no balance at all and it was just a bunch of cubed up beets where all you could taste was lemon juice. I don’t think the chefs are tasting their food before sending it out. Seriously, I’ve never had an appetizer that tasted more like a lemon warhead. I was planning on getting a bottle of wine and finish it through my appetizer and entree, with my date but I did not want to have 3 more courses of food I didn’t like at upscale prices. The one glass of cava I got was good, but expensive. Prices are fair for upper end food, but not if the execution is off. I walked down the street and grabbed a quick sushi nigiri meal at a...
