I came here to dine with friends on a weekday evening and was super excited because I heard nothing, but great reviews. The restaurant is located in the heart of Dedham Square about 30 minutes south of downtown Boston and is very close to the lines of Hyde Park. Upon walking in the space is well lit with a host stand at the door, several smaller party tables along the perimeter of the venue and even has a fireplace surrounded by love seats, a couch, tv, and a neighboring wine rack. My party was for six people so we were nestled towards the back of the dining room past the bar. . Anna, our server was attentive and continued to check in periodically although we had not even looked at the menu after nearly 30 minutes into our reservation. To wine down (see what I did there??) we had Black Girl Magic Rose and added a seafood appetizer of seared sea scallops to compliment the drink. The sauce was a decadent yellow and the dish itself was succulent. Next we orderd the Orchid 7 wings jerk style and the flavor did not disappoint. Spicy is what you expect, but you could taste other smoky flavors beyond that. Our last appetizer were the french fries which were steak cut, seasoned and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. While dining, the chef Paul stopped by our table to ask us how everything was going which showed me how intentional they are with their standard of service. . We placed our order for entrees and I got the coconut curry chickpeas with a a side of plantains. Do not be fooled by the small size of the bowl its presented in! It was A LOT OF FOOD! I was so filled from the apps, I took the rest home and ate out of it four times with my sister! My friends ordered the Grilled Salmon with black rice, the Rasta Pasta and lastly the Orchid 7 Burger which also had huge portions. I wish we had space for dessert (I almost never do (>.<) as they have a fridge filled with several delectable cakes and cheesecakes. Hands down the best experience I have had at a Caribbean restaurant and hope to dine here again soon!

Beautiful atmosphere. When we arrived with was not busy so we had the pleasure of choosing where we wanted to sit. They have a nice open kitchen concept. I loved how the owner used downtime to ensure the furniture was functional. It is a place where you would not mind sitting and enjoying your time. Very friendly waitstaff. They were very excited and welcoming to see my 4-month-old. There were a few times we needed something and had to wave down support which I feel should not have happened since we were sitting less than 10 feet away from all the staff and the only active eating customers. But when we did get their attention they were able to assist us immediately. We ordered two appetizers the scallops and orchid wings. Both tasted awesome. I would say the sauce in the scallops needed to be a little thicker due to having a little watery taste to it. But other than that wonderful. For meals, we order the chef's special and the steak plate. The chef's plate was red snapper, black rice, green beans, and fried plantains. Everything was awesome besides the green beans being a little burnt on some sides. The steak plate on the other hand was not that good. It was steak in their sauce, Jasmine rice, and spinach. The sauce tastes very similar to the sauce used for the scallops. The rice was awesome (I love Jasmine rice). Now the steak, I will pass on it the next time. The way they charred it left a taste that was overpowering making it impossible to enjoy. It tasted like they used a torch to give it the grilled look.

So overall, I gave a score of 5 because 4.5 doesn't exist. Let me explain why..... I've seen the post on social media platforms, and I have made my way to them. First off, disregard the layout upon entry it will make you question why, though. There is currently no way to make an online reservation, so if you want to, you gotta go old-fashioned and call them. The hostess and waitress were nice and made dining fun. Now the food...... omggggggg it was delicious! Now, here's the thing don't go to Orchid straving because there is a wait, but trust it was worth the wait. Appetizers included: The colossal shrimp, I believe, was served 3 to a plate with just the right amount of heat with mango salsa. The crabcake had no fillers. The philly eggroll was hot and crispy. Main course: plantain tacos stuffed with roasted pork and slaw, mustard chicken with rice and spinach, and 12oz steak with rice and spinach. All delicious and flavorful. Carrort cake was shared for dessert and didn't taste like it was thawed out. The beverages were also good and strong, just how I like them for the prices being charged. My only comment/recommendation would be to ask for extra ice or extra chilled because it will lose its integrity if you don't.

I don't just hand out five star ratings but this location deserves it. Service always pleasant. While the brunch wasn't anything spectacular to me the lunch/dinner certainly was a hit. Finding vegetarian options that are delicious can be a challenge. Especially when they lie amidst a menu with plenty of non vegetarian dishes. Many restaurants that offer one or two vegetation options don't seemingly place the same effort in preparation and flavor as they do the more popular dishes. BUT not here. I had the curry chickpeas and nearly fell out my seat. I opted for the black rice sub instead of the one it normally comes with, had sautéed spinach and those werr solid choices for me. Also had the salad and it was also delicious. My server was very nice - D - she was pleasant and funny. I am always happy to support local businesses and am disappointed if I have to review based on negativity. Not here. It's worth a try to anyone looking to have a quick bite, chill or enjoy a flavorful meal.

My friend raved about the flavor and how juicy the burger was (they got it medium well). The fries were really good. Crispy outside with some softness inside and very flavorful like truffle fries. The Rasta pasta is the best one I’ve had so far. My only criticism is the shrimp they used. Personally I would have favored white shrimp, it would have went well with that type of dish as oppose to the pink shrimp (White shrimp is tender and sweet). The reason why I took off a star is because one shrimp (literally just the one) tail tasted like baking soda. Not just a slight taste of it but it was overpowering. Leaving the shell on the tail collects all that juice Rasta pasta flavor but residue of brine used to clean/tenderize it can remain if not washed properly. The cocktails did not make the cut, they were Ight. Should have went with some wine. Would 100% recommend this fusion restaurant. Personally I’d definitely walk in and eat somewhere I see staff eating what they serve haha.
