I placed an order at 4:40 PM through GrubHub. I was waiting on it for 3 hours. During that time, I received text updates (One was from the driver himself, who said that he'd driven to the restaurant but the order wasn't ready yet. The rest were automated.). At 7:40 PM, GrubHub's automated service marked the order as done and asked me what I thought of the food. Confused, I called El Centro and asked what was going on. They told me that they weren't supposed to be on GrubHub that day, I needed to request a refund from them, and then they hung up.
I'm floored.
First of all, the drivers' GPS showed him going to El Centro 3 times to see if the order was ready. When I called, this couldn't have been a big shock to them. They must have known that an order had come through a channel they weren't expecting based on the dude who swung by the restaurant 3 times asking about one. You'd think, after the 1st or 2nd time, they'd have the decency to call up the customer and make accommodations.
Secondly, when I called, you'd think they'd be willing to sympathize with me. I did place an order 3 hours earlier after all. Even if they thought they disabled GrubHub for Cinco De Mayo, they should be willing accommodate a customer who inadvertently caught the brunt of that not working. But they didn't take my order via phone and try to help me out. They hung up.
If they'd reacted to the situation with even basic customer service, I'd assume that they put in a request to have GrubHub disabled for a day but GrubHub didn't do their job properly in fulfilling it. It happens. But judging by the way they brushed me off and didn't care that I ordered a dinner from them that never arrived, I'm guessing they just didn't do things properly and didn't care.
I had a horrible experience with this restaurant. I hope it doesn't last in Dedham and we get something better...
Read moreThis place is definitely high on my recommendation list. It has a very rustic vibe with a cafeteria feel. This staff all the way around is incredibly friendly and they don’t waste time in getting you what you need. The food that we ordered was exceptional. Starting with the $20 margarita which to most would seem very expensive but it was well worth the $20. It’s a good thing I’m not driving. lol onto the appetizer which was the ceviche spicy tuna. This was by far the best ceviche I’ve ever had. They gave you a huge amount of tuna which is very surprising and could be a meal in itself. The flavors are on point. We happen to stumble in here on a Tuesday so it was three tacos for $10 which taco Tuesday is always my favorite. The tacos were Mary delicious and flavorful. Our main entrée was the enchiladas which we ended up getting the pastor enchiladas. The enchiladas were loved by both myself and my partner and if we didn’t live an hour away we would definitely be back and make this our usual spot. If you’re in the area I would definitely suggest coming and checking this cute little...
Read moreSorry to inconvenience your business by being a customer . The staff definitely doesn’t want to be there and could give no thoughts about there customers . Arrived hour before close . Was rushed to order . Waiter seem aggravated and wasn’t helpful didnt ask us if we wanted more chips . I’m sorry but if your a waitress or waiter shouldn’t you at-least check on drinks especially if we were the only customers in there . Well I had to flag him down for a water . Then he forgot to bring it . Finally 20 mins later I got a water . The pork had pieces that tasted like shoe leather . Just had a really bad vibe from the staff . Felt like they didn’t want to be there and didn’t want to wait on us, So if that’s the case I won’t go inconvenience you anymore. Paying 100 dollars for our meal I had better service at Taco Bell . Instead of wearing nice clothes they just should wear clothes that say f-off . Definitely heard one of them complaining about us because he had to do his job ?...
