La Taqueria 320 Washington St, Dedham, MA 02026
I went to this location because my daughter said that she and some friends tried it before and it was good. So I tried it. My daughter ordered 3 tacos, the Carne Asada, Caritas and the Grilled chicken, my wife ordered the Chicken and cheese quesadilla and I ordered the fish taco (fried battered fish) you have a choice between grilled or fried, the flavor of all was impeccable, however the portions for the price was a bit hard for me to digest. My daughter's 3 small Tacos were fifteen dollars and some change, my taco was $4.99 + 25 cents for a wedge of lime I don't remember the price of the quesadilla I think it was 7 or 8 dollars and came with fries. They are a bit nickel and dime and charge 50 cents for each topping like pico de gallo or sour cream.
Don't get me wrong the food tasted great the service was a bit aloof and it took a bit to get my order ( I saw my fish taco sitting there waiting to be dressed for about 5 minutes.) The average taco was about 3 bites so a bit on the small size. Normally you will find this size taco sold in an order with at least 2 or 3 for under $10.00.
Even with what I perceive as high prices the flavor of the food will more than likely make me go back. I just will not choose it very often because I don't feel like I got a lot of bang for my buck.
In my experience a lot of taqueria's offer beans and rice as a side so I usually order a couple of amuse-bouche sized Tacos and get a side of rice and beans to fill out the meal. So next time I will probably try that.
Overall I believe if you like authentic taco's you will like this place.
I rate it 4...
Read moreI used to really love the salads from this place but honestly the last few times I've gotten them I've been HIGHLY disappointed. Now, both locations have really bad parking situations so it's extremely frustrating when you leave the restaurant only to realize some of the toppings you ordered (and paid for, since they nickel & dime you) are NOT on your salad. This happened the past couple times I ordered from them. One of the times I ordered cheese & there were literally like 10 tiny strands of cheese..almost like they were running low & trying to make what they had last. Sometimes the meat is WAYYYY too salty also. I wish this place was consistent because they have potential but after my last visit (when my salad was full of water from the lettuce not being properly drained & missing toppings I paid for I vowed to not go back..even when they offer me a coupon code..it's just always really disappointing now. They also just raised all of their prices again (second time since the pandemic started.) I don't understand it since the quality is decreasing. Hopefully they can get their act together &...
Read moreI'm originally from San diego, CA and have nexican family members. I've worked as a cook at Mexican restaurants. It's very rare to find a good authentic mexican food place outside of California, Georgia, and Texas. This place Is THE exception. The portions are great, compared to other ma restaurants , where in san diego those portions would be meant for kids. the food is authentic and delicious. They have Jamaica, horchata, tres leches cake, fish tacos/ burritos, California burritos ( if you know you know), and flan. All staples of an actual Mexican restaurant. In a state like ma where seafood is abundant, it's surprising that most " Mexican " places don't gave fish tacos or ever heard of fish burritos. The staff is wonderful, customer service ,and team work is world class. This place has a bright future and will definitely be having many more locations in the near future. I wish them all the best. They can do no...
