I had very high expectations because I was gifted an apple treat from here before actually visiting the location- it was magnificent. When I paid a visit my order was simple - a Leche snow one, a cherry cone and a regular corn. Well the leche snow cone is treated as a specialty and to my memory only available in one size - very odd - the cone itself had a descent sweet cinnamon flavor butttt it was slimy. I believe there was something off with the actual mixture used - note there was no condensed milk topping to make the slime ok. The cherry cone was normal as you’d expect a cherry cone to be but also had a very thick syrup which didn’t mix well. The corn…I ordered yellow corn- this corn was brown- showing that it had been reheated several times- also the corn was a bit mushy. Definitely not fresh and lacked flavor. While I perused the salad options in the fridge I noticed that the salads with shrimp and shrimp cocktails were dated 3 days old. While I did not buy those salads I did feel they might not do so well for so long - although refrigerated. Honestly - I know this is a new spot - they have soooo much room for improvement. The pricing wasn’t the best but understandable with costs of goods. I’m sure if a revision to how things are prepped and served this place can really improve and be a great spot. The staff was friendly and informative. I believe fixing the quality of the items served and closely monitoring length of time things can be used and or served will make for a better experience. Hoping for improvement. I’ll give it a second go once...
Read moreHIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! This place is excellent! Great treats and nice people. There aren’t many places that have white corn and this place has and it’s delicious. The salsa for the corn is so good it’s not too spicy has such great taste. I get the chamoyada but told them to do the base as strawberry and they knew exactly what I meant a lot of places get confused, perfect amount of sweetness and spice and the syrup has such good taste. I’ve tried many refresquerias maybe around 10 at least lol in the Pasadena, South Houston, Magnolia and Houston areas and this place is definitely one of the best comparable to the ones I’ve visited in Mexico or better honestly. The mangonada is so delicious freshly made to order not frozen like many other places and the mango both times I’ve tried has been sweet and perfect the chamoy they use is delicious. And the cherry on top is the excellent customer service they are so nice and welcoming and patient. I’ve gone to a couple of refresquerias where the food was good but the people weren’t and that in itself can deter me from coming back but here I love the warm welcome makes me want to come back and invite others. I have to fight myself from going too often 😅...
Read moreToday was my first visit and I will definitely be back. I had the yellow corn and it was so good. Some places are so skimpy with the toppings but this was not. The "salsa" or whatever it was for the corn was delicious. I was afraid it would be too spicy so I tried just a little at first and then ended up going up there twice to put more, ha ha. I ordered a mangonada and that was equally amazing. I'm not sure what the person meant by mushy corn but this was not. Highly recommend if you like the corn in the cup and/or mangonadas. I cannot speak to any of the other items as that was all I had. Oh, and the service, the workers were very...
