We are in Deer Park about once a month, this is the first time weāve noticed this place and itās been open for about three months. We stopped in imtoday to give them a try as good Mexican food Restaurants in Houston are hard to find. The salsa had a nice kick to it and the chips were crisp. I almost passed over the number 11 because all I read was pork chops and then I went back and read that it was two pork chops cubed up and stewed with jalapeƱos and tomatoes. Initially, I expected cubed pieces of pork chops with stewed tomatoes, and jalapeƱos over the top of it, what I got instead was the cubed pork chops in a ranchero type sauce. It was more like a soup. the pork chops were excellent and the soup broth was nice and spicy. So even though it wasnāt what I expected, it was still a delightful meal. The refried beans were good. The guacamole was good. All the sides were exactly as I expected. I asked the owner if they had hot sauce to go along with stuff, she offered up a green tomatillo salsa and said that she had heard it was hotter than the salsa that came with the chips. it was a tasty tomatillo salsa, but there was no heat to it. The restaurant was nice and clean, and it was decorated in a nice entertaining Mexican fashion. The servers weāre nice and attentive. We look forward to coming back and trying some of the other other menu items to see how they compare with other Mexican food restaurants that we are used to. If you are in the Deer Park area, it is definitely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were moving my brother and sister-in-law when we saw a Mexican restaurant with a drive-through and thought score, what a fantastic opportunity to try a new place. Plus who doesn't love good Mexican food right š but this was nothing to be desired! We only ordered simple chicken tacos... nothing too difficult like tamales or brisket or even fajitas just chicken tacos š š® What we got was chicken on a corn tortilla with absolutely nothing else they didn't add Sh't to it was so plain, dry, and nasty with absolutely no flavor at all and nothing else no onions or cilantro. Normal they ask but nope this thing nothing added no cheese, no lettuce or tomatoes. I am a foodie who owns food businesses and in my entire life I have never brought tacos like theirs with nothing but the taco shell and meat it was terrible and š it was so sad and very disappointing, especially when we were already so tired and just needed something good, quick and filling to eat to continue our work for the day. Not to mention "The Bill" for these 4 sh'tty tacos and 1 large coke was $20.00 and change for real!!!! 𤣠I wanted to ask them how much where the tacos $4.50 a piece a $5.00 Coke! WTH! Yep, I will never waste my time or my hard-earned money here ever again. I am feeling very disappointed even writing about...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered the carne guisada, seemed like they didn't even make a effort to add flavor. The sauce tasted like beef broth whipped with a little flour ,didn't even deserve to be called gravy- very watery ,carne guisada normally has a thicker texture with good flavors added .I poured the whole sasla on it to try and add a little flavor myself . The beans did not have much flavor nor did the rice. The enchilada sauce was another disappointment. Just seems like the cooks or management do not care about the food they are putting out , judging from our experience and other reviews that were posted. . On a positive note the flour tortilla was good, queso and salsa passed as well ... Our waitress came and asked me how the food was I told her what I thought, she said she told management and that a gentleman im assuming was,a owner/manager said he would come and speak to me. I guess he doesn't care about customer satisfaction because he never came. I think it's always important to take constructive criticism, especially when trying to launch a restaurant. There are a lot of good Mexican restaurants in the area, if Rancho Grande Grande wants to compete they are going to have to step it up big time. To management and kitchen ,you got...
