This is a 2 day review, I wish we had taken photos but it was so good, we didn’t stop to think about it.
Day one: we got the Spicy Calamari appetizer, Carbonara, Shrimp Scampi, Chicken Parm, Cannoli, Tiramisu, and Lemon Sorbet. The Calamari was crispy and just the right amount of spice and the marinara sauce that came with it was definitely homemade and delicious. They include garlic knots with your meal, we ended up dipping it into the calamari sauce it was so good.
The Carbonara was phenomenal, creamy and rich the pancetta was flavorful and fantastic. The Scampi was just as good, the shrimp were large and plentiful. The chicken parm was accompanied by that delicious sauce and large piece of chicken, it was great as well. None of us could finish our meals, the portions are large and it really is a great value.
The cannoli was freshly filled and the cream was awesome, not too dense and was creamy and flavorful. The Tiramisu and Lemon Sorbet was made by the owners wife, and she did an amazing job! The Tiramisu is a must try, soft, creamy, just amazing. The lemon sorbet was tart and refreshing, just amazing.
Their service, 10/10. Ms. Sue was super friendly and honest when asked about the menu. Our drinks were never empty and she was just awesome. She provided fresh plates so that we could sample each others dishes and was very thoughtful.
My sister’s boyfriend has parents in Italy, so he grew up on fresh Italian food and he was very impressed by this restaurant, reminded him of his mother’s cooking.
Day 2: I took my grandparents whose parents were from Italy, they call sauce, gravy, and are very hard to impress with Italian food.
We got the gnocchi, eggplant parm, and Lasagna. They had a special and we got mini cannolis as well.
The gnocchi were traditional potato gnocchi, soft and delicious. You can choose from a few sauces and he chose the bolognese, it was filled with meat, it was very hearty and plentiful. I have never had gnocchi like that before, he said that it reminded him of his mother’s gnocchi, he said it was “sensational”, I’ve never heard him praise food like that.
The Eggplant parm was just as well received, you can also choose which pasta you want with the dish, this one had angel hair pasta, there was so much and it was covered in that delicious marinara sauce. My grandmother loved it.
The lasagna was a large portion, well seasoned and full of meat, the only word that can describe it, is delicious.
We were also provided with garlic knots like the previous night, 2 per person and they are decent sized.
Service: Ms. Sue was fantastic and even remembered mine and everyone in my parties name from the day before. Drinks were kept full and she handled my sometimes difficult grandparents with ease. When we left, she even gave us hugs and wish me a safe flight back to SC.
This is restaurant while unassuming, is a must try, it is now a family tradition for us that when we come to visit, we must eat there. If you’re local or traveling and are looking for a local spot, go here! I would just recommend that you check their...
Read moreHandpicked this place for a birthday dinner, we really made a bad decision. By the end of our dining experience we were all mad, frustrated and appalled about the service we received and there was 13 of us. We had major issues with food not arriving all together and when we asked about it, we received a laundry list of excuses and a sorry attempt of an apology. Since now everyone else has eaten, we asked to cancel the order and were told its too late with a very defensive attitude towards us. After expressing our dissatisfaction the waitress proceeded to argue with one of our guests. Not at any moment were we given a sincere apology and not one attempt to accommodate us for the troubles. After all said and done with the food we now had to face a mess of the bill; things being overcharged, added to wrong checks and an automatic 20% gratuity added to the checks. When asked to reevaluate the 20%, I was told that's their policy and can't be changed. We left there feeling like somehow all the issues were our fault when they admitted to messing up on the order, having technical issues and whatever else they had go wrong. After finally wrapping things up we witnessed/heard the staff congregated in the corner talking about us, not professional at all, at least wait for us to leave. Attempting to end this on a positive note, the food we did actually get to eat was very good. Unfortunately, I will not patronize an establishment that argues with customers and cannot properly address things when...
Read moreThis is the 2nd time I have dined in at the restaurant, but I have order there many times before, unfortunately it will be my last. I honestly could not tell you much about my dinner as our party of 12 all got there food and ate before we went and checked on my food. I was given every excuse as to why it did not come out and that now it was being re-made because it was not cooked right. My party was ready to have dessert so I asked to just cancel my order and was told it was already cooking. There after they brought the food to the table and I told them I did not want it was told that they would box it for me to take home, the waitress was very rude. I refused to accept that, then it was time to cut the cake and the waitress addressed everyone at the table when she served the cake except for me, she was very rude. At this point I was beyond aggravated and asked for my check and again was given every excuse as to why she could not get it to me timely. I then advised the waitress that she was being very rude to me and had an attitude, she then told me with that same attitude that she did not have an attitude. I asked the members of my party if I was wrong and they all agreed that she definitely had an attitude. Unfortunately due to this experience I will not be back and I also will not being ordering from them again. I have been informed that the waitress was actually the owner of...
