I’ve been coming to this restaurant for over 14 years, and while the food has always been good, the service has declined to the point that I can no longer recommend it. Tonight was the final straw.
Our server Moet, came out initially with water, then disappeared for about 10 minutes before taking my order for myself and my two sons. She brought the food out but never came back to check on us. I had asked for well-done shrimp with my shrimp fried rice, but the shrimp came out barely cooked. My sons finished their meals while I waited, expecting the server to return so I could have my shrimp cooked properly. She never did. I ended up eating just the rice and leaving the shrimp on a separate plate.
Over 20 minutes after I had finished, I was about to get up to find her or a manager when I saw her walking back toward the restaurant—hands full of groceries from Publix. When she finally approached us, she said, “Is everything okay? I told them to watch you.” That was shocking. Leaving your customers unattended to go grocery shopping is unacceptable, and nobody came by to “watch” us in her absence.
To make matters worse, when it came time to pay, she was very quick to run my card and even quicker to swoop back and collect the signed check presenter—yet at no point did she clear any of the dirty plates from our table. The priorities were obvious, and they had nothing to do with hospitality.
This restaurant has been a favorite of ours for years, especially when sitting inside in the genkan room. But lately, the service has consistently been poor. Tonight made it clear that management needs to retrain staff on basic steps of service—hospitality is the foundation of this industry. Sadly, after too many bad experiences and especially after tonight with our server, Moet, we won’t be returning. Good food alone cannot make up for such...
Read moreI used to come here all the time with my ex-boyfriend. I have not been here in over 2 years. It's a monday, and I just left the restaurant very frustrated and annoyed. I went in and dined by myself, there was nobody in there and the waitress was taking forever to come take my order. I had to walk up to the bar to give her my food orders, meanwhile she is just there chit chatting with all the sushi chefs. Once my food comes out, she never comes back to check on me and see if I need anything else or if my food was okay. Sufficient enough time went by for her to come back, but she never did so once again I had to go up to the bar to get her to bring me my check and a to-go box. I then had to go ask her for a side of eel sauce, and she ends up bringing me back soy sauce. So I wait a couple minutes again and once again I have to go up to the bar to tell her it's not eel sauce it's soy sauce. Once she gives me the eel sauce, there's barely any in there. I'm not one who's high maintenance, but this was a frustrating experience for me for sure. Especially since nobody was in the restaurant. As for the food, I had crab rangoon which was pretty good and the sea bass appetizer, which was pretty good, but not as good as I remembered from a couple of years ago. I also had a sushi burrito, and it was completely dry and didn't have any sauce. They also must have changed their Thai tea recipe because it's not nearly as good as it used to be. Needless to say, I won't be...
Read moreI have been eating sushi for over 30years. Some friends had said let’s go here they have very good fish. To make things easy I ordered a boat for 2 for my date and myself and a mini boat for my daughter. I kindly requested no white tuna. (White tuna is not tuna). No real Japanese restaurant would even consider selling it to you. Our order comes . I was like it’s a standard boat no biggie. Lighting not the greatest not the most attentive waitress. I start to eat! After a lil bit I notice I’m eating tuna salmon tuna salmon tuna salmon. I call for our waitress. I’m like is the only fish you have here tuna and salmon? She was like no, I’m like ok why is that the only thing on either one of these boats. 5 minutes later manager comes over and states why didn’t I say anything earlier. I’m like well it’s dark your server never came back once to ask how the meal was ,it took me in the dark 10 minutes to realize there was nothing except tuna and salmon on my boats. She then tried telling me the salmon and tuna are the most expensive things on the menu. LOL! How about toro, how about hamachi.how about wahoo, how about cobia. I was like your selling sand to an Arab lady. Just a figure of speech. To say the least she comped my half a boat that I was sharing I paid for the rest of all meals.with a decent tip although she really didn’t deserve it.needless to say your standard boca think it’s a decent trendy place when in fact it’s...
