UPDATE: A Manager should NEVER DISREPECT regardless if stressed. 2nd We ONLY asked for 1 tzatziki each. Charging was UNNECESSARY! Where do I begin? Days after Hurricane Irma, we head out to get a hot meal after mainly eating Hurricane supply food for days.
We came to GyroMania, grab a few menus from the counter, sat in the chairs to decide what to order. After the line diminshes, we place our orders. I ask the cashier if the salad is pre-made she explains they're made fresh. I request my Greek Salad be made w/less lettuce. Side Note: Traditional Greek salad doesn't have lettuce. Its disappointing that lettuce is used as a filler so the restaurant can cut cost.
I receive the salad and it's 75% lettuce. Its possible the cook misunderstood, so I bring the dish back & kindly explain the mistake. They remake the dish w/"light" lettuce. I'm happy. My friend walks to the cashier when he notices they forgot the tzatziki sauce. He asks for 2 tzatziki. She explains she has to charge for the 2nd sauce. I then explain that 1 sauce is for me and she states she mistook that he wanted 2 for himself, then gives both to us, 1 for each of our meals. As I proceed to eat the Calamari, I notice the dough is still raw inside what should be FRIED Calamari. I take another bite & find a hair. Even though it doesn't match my hair color, I overlook this and give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. Thankfully my friend ordered a gyro pita. I refill my drink & notice the ice dispenser is empty, again, I kindly bring this to the attention of the cashier. When I walk back, I explain to my friend that its strange that all these issues keep popping up. That's when I hear the woman at the table next to ours complain that they messed up HER order. She ordered the souvlaki and NOT a gyro. My friend mentions, "it seems you're not the only customer having issues." I take another bite of my Calamari & find ANOTHER hair. Mind you, my hair was still wet from showering & pulled back in a low bun. At this point I'm thoroughly frustrated, I did my best to overlook issue after issue but at this point, I believe any patron would be thoroughly put off.
I walk over to the register while the customer whose kerfuffled order was being corrected. However, the straw that broke the camels back, is what happens next. I walk up to the cashier a 3rd time & kindly explain that I was overcharged & hand her my receipt/menu & show her the discrepancy. She looks at the electronic menu behind her & notices the pricing for the "side" greek salad is not listed. She calls over what I believe to be a manager. He explains the printed menus are outdated. Which I respond to, that 1st, they shouldn't be displayed for customers to order from if the prices are incorrect and secondly, the cashier should explain the prices are outdated when I'm placing the order from the INCORRECT menu. He then rudely explains that he was waiting till the old menus ran out till he ordered new ones and then pointed to the back of the menu & explains "had you read the WHOLE MENU it's clearly printed "Prices subject to change without warning" "
First off, since when do I have to read a menu thoroughly in order to ensure that I am not overcharged?!? Secondly, this is NOT the way you speak to a customer or conduct business.
Side Note 2: How many customers have been overcharged & NEVER took notice. Crooked business practice!
Instead of wasting my time w/a manager who feels its ok to talk down to customers. I walked away and explained to my friend I will be sure to yelp my experience.
Here's where I thought it couldn't possibly get ANY WORSE!!! Not too long after getting home after leaving the restaurant. My stomach felt strange. I had a bad feeling that maybe the Calamari may have been spolied. Suffice it to say I was wrong as my friend also had to use the bathroom. We both had a terrible case of diarrhea and I'm pretty sure it had something to do with food leftover from Hurricane Irma. After this overall nightmare of an experience, I will make sure to NEVER eat at this...
Read moreI enjoyed this place. We just went there today, the social distancing guidelines were in place and effective. Most of their business is via delivery services such as Uber, doordash and Postmates. They have a very Lifey menu, so sometimes it's hard to choose from the wide variety of items that they have. Two seems to be one of the mower popular Greek casual restaurants that you can eat at in the Boca Raton area. It's right across from the Arium residential complex. It's a little pricey, my children and I ate there and the bill came out to be $40. This is a walk-up counter, order and sit down until your number is called type of eating establishment. As for the food, I asked for the lamb Kabob . She asked me how I would like to cook then I told her to cook it in the traditional manner which gives it the most flavor.. But the lamb seemed very tough and chewy. To be 100% honest with you it wasn't that great and not worth the price. Each platter lets you order comes with two sides. One of the better sides are the lemon potatoes that we're very tasty and seemed very fresh. They've never used any artificial lemon juice, you could tell it was your natural lemon juice that they are using on this very special potatoe side dish. My son had a large fried shrimp platter, the shrimps are very big oh, just the right amount of breading and there were very tasty. The typical side of french fries are the rally type of french fries which are very well seasoned, sometimes maybe too seasoned for some people. We did not have any deserts. The bathroom, I had to take my daughter to the bathroom and there was no toilet paper at all and no paper towel at all coming from the electronic dispenser. So I had to sneak into the women's restroom and get the stuff from there. I notify the manager at once and they quickly corrected it. So was just an oversight, but they should really have a checklist like most establishments have, in which the crews go in every hour to make sure that everything is in order with the bathroom and that all the toiletries are in stock and everything in perfect working order.
D square footage of the inside dining area is large enough to accommodate several tables, despite the social distancing guidelines that are now in place. Luckily they also have some outdoor seats, probably 5 tables in total with two or More chairs for each table. To be honest with you, I went here because this place was very highly rated. I did not get that experience from this establishment. It was average at best. Next time I will try a different Greek place, but I will come back however to try again because everyone has her days. One day and 1 review oh that particular experience on that dining day cannot be an accurate representation of the overall consistency and taste of the food. I forgot to mention, the staff was very nice. They were polite and friendly. Even the cook was interacting with the customers. Folks, let's make sure to take these people while because they're working in an industry that has been severely affected by this pandemic and we need to support them. Treat others just like you would want to be treated. I have some advice for management, please bring the food to the tables and interact more with the customers, so just asking them if they want more of Coca-Cola or whatever they're drinking, just act like it's more of a full-service time a restaurant and I can guarantee you that you'll get more tips. You don't have to go overboard, just bring the food to the table for starters and please include a tip area on the check. May God bless you all. Remember that Jesus Christ loves you, died for all of our sins, wants us to repent and stop sinning, for he is coming back to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. For any people out there that doubt the Christ, simply reference Isaiah 53. I wonder who they're talking...
Read moreWe have been going here for years and I will say the food is usually pretty great but the owner is super cheap and both quality and quantity have declined in recent years. For example I have several times ordered around 20 dollars in food and when I ask for more than the 2 very small packets of mayo they give they refuse or want to charge ridiculous prices to get a few extra packets of mayo which is so cheap and at a Greek place I cant imagine they have a huge demand for mayo packets. I use it for french fries and in place of tzatziki sauce on my gyros. And although their mayo is good its actually smaller packets than any other mayo packets at other restaurants so to only offer 2 with 2 meals and a bunch of sides which is ridiculous. I have never complained or given a bad review as we loved coming here and I order something often that's not on the menu. I go through periods of being vegetarian where I give meat eating a break but I'm not a healthy vegetarian. I order a pita with cheese melted on it like a pita grilled cheese which is excellent. It's super easy to make and they have always charged for the pita and the cheese. We just walked in today and ordered the same thing along with a gyro and fries and the manager told us NO to my side pita with cheese. She said she can't do that anymore. No explanation of why and no logic to it at all. They werent even busy when we were there before noon. And of course we offered to pay extra if it was trouble to make as that was what I really craved today and again the answer was no with no real explanation. In any case after being refused my favorite side snack that I've always ordered for years we still had other orders that I needed mayo for and guess what....only 2 packets again even after rudely refusing to make the side pita. Also my fries were dark brown and greasy AF and tasted like they were made in dirty oil. The gyro was half the size it used to be. For a restaurant lucky enough to still have regular business and loyal customers throughout covid we are sorely disappointed that they wouldnt try a little harder to keep the customers they have over a side pita and a couple packets of mayo. Sad. And shame on them for being so cheap and indifferent to a...
