Been going to this chain pretty much since they opened. Started driving all the way to Delray from deerfield until they finally opened a boca location. Food has always been good and had been really pleased until my wife was overcharged $44 at the Boca location (palmetto and powerline). She used the new app and her receipt showed the correct amount, but somehow she was charged more. When she called she spoke to a really nice girl who told her she had to deal with the manager. She went into the location a few days and later and was basically treated like a fraudster criminal. She had already called our bank and even they suggested speaking to the store about an adjustment. All the manager seemed concerned about was "you used the app right?" After being asked this and answering yes several times she realized he didn't care about service or fixing the issue. She left and filed a dispute (she had the same proof for the bank that she attempted to show the manager). The bank promptly returned the difference, not the full overcharged amount just what was incorrect, as we pay for what we buy. Today she received an email telling her "you didn't pay for your most recent purchase". Something is really wrong with the management of this company. It's all over the Internet from former employees that they don't treat their staff well and it is starting to show. They have certainly lost...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I are big fans of Brooklynized Water Bagels. We have been to every location in Broward County over the years and have had consistently great food and service. We visited this Boca location on New Years day 2025 and were honestly appalled at the cleanliness of the restaurant. The self-service counter was dirty and not fully stocked. Both bathrooms (by chance, we happened to use both separately) were filthy with urine all over, clearly not checked by staff consistently as this was around 8am and both bathrooms were somehow in disastrous shape.
The quality of our sandwiches was also poor. We both ordered the Williamsburg sandwiches and on both sandwiches we were given almost white unripe tomatoes. We were in a hurry and didn't make a fuss in the restaurant but these are nearly $15 a piece for these sandwiches and it wasn't like they were swamped as there were maybe 4 other customers at the time. I mean, c'mon.
I believe this is a result of poor management and I believe BWB should look into this because they will certainly lose more business if this is the norm at this location. If we were new customers and hadn't had so many great experiences at other BWB locations, we would have never returned to BWB again. I don't usually write reviews to complain but this was very disappointing and we will not return to this...
Read moreWent there for breakfast with a friend this morning and though the food was good, I would never go there again because they do not require a mask at all (despite the sign on the door). They let 3 people walk in (2 parties) with no mask in the short time we were there. One guy was even walking a dog. This is a direct health code violation and places like this are why this virus will not go away. Brooklyn Water Bagel does not take the rules seriously. They also keep their bagels out on open racks where anything in the air can get on them. The racks are probably about 6 feet from where the customer stands to order and, since their customers are absolutely NOT required to where masks, this is a major concern. It makes me wonder what we cannot see in the place. Lastly, they do not wipe the table down after each customer and when the refill the iced tea dispenser (maybe it was coffee, I did not watch that closely), they carry it through the restaurant in an open bin. Again, just shows this place either does not believe the virus is a problem, they do not care about it, or they are just clueless, but if you are concerned about it, I would avoid this place "like the plague". Their token efforts are not...
