I typically reside in columbus ohio. There, I’d say me and my beautiful handsome boys eat chipotle 6-7 times a week. 41 if it’s a cheat week. but that’s usually only on tuesdays. recently, there’s been a family emergency: my great aunt glindas dairy mill got backed into by a cyber truck. the cyber truck is alright, but glinda, well she’s heartbroken. it’s been months, but her emotional recovery has been slow. in an effort to cheer her up, we suggested a day trip to the deerfield square chipotle as we saw tiktok star darcy mcqueeny rave about this specific location. however, as soon as we entered, everything went down hill. for starters, the door is a pull, not a push. glinda hasn’t ever seen this, and it made her ANGRY. in her state of rage, she took her emergency glass breaker and attempted to convert the door by removing the glass. bless her heart🙏😊 shockingly, the workers were less than appreciative of this, which was incredibly disappointing. they urged us to vacate the premises, threateneing to call 911. we figured they were kidding, so we ventured inside. they weren’t kidding. suddenly, corn, beans, chicken, salsa, and other condiments like guac were being thrown in our direction. i felt personally invaded as i was wearing brand new shoes. they were also white, however they are now tie dyed with guac and queso. incredibly disappointing. for those wondering, i have since reached out to chipotle head quarters requesting compensation for the clothes that were damaged, haven’t heard a response though. after 15 long, infuriating minutes of food fights, we left through the (pull) door and vowed to never return.
Glinda has since told every peer in her 69 person synchronized swim crew that the experience was so traumatic, she wished the cyber truck would have just ran her over. this alarmed her companions, and they made the wise decision to chip in and send her to a mental hospital for treatment. again, i reached out to chipotle headquarters for compensation. no reply. yikes. we haven’t heard from glinda in 41 hours. also, tesla has reported a cyber truck theft. we are sincerely praying those two things are not related in any which way. i ask all readers to keep my dear aunt glinda in your prayers, and to please stay away from the deerfield square...
Read moreWorst. Chipotle. Ever. I gave the food 3 stars because it can only get so bad. Chipotle used to be a happy and vibing atmosphere with cool music, friendly staff, clean dining areas and restrooms, delicious food, and generous portions. I remember when the first Chipotle in the area opened in Glenview back in 2004ish. It was packed for lunch every day.
This location is the exact opposite of all those things. Granted, there are many locations in similar states, but since this is the closest one to me, this is the one I'm reviewing.
First, the food. The reason you go to Chipotle in the first place. As I said, it can only get so bad, thanks to some level of consistency across the chain. Quality aside, the portions can vary wildly. I'm not really sure what motivates the staff to skimp on portions. They'll load you up with rice and maybe beans, and then skimp on everything else. Want steak? You're lucky if you get 10 pieces, and you're guaranteed pieces full of gristle and fat. Want guacamole? They'll take a nice big scoop of it and bang the spoon down on the tub so hard that almost nothing is left on the spoon. They are also consistently out of ingredients, or have equipment failures. Finally, the staff will rush the crap out of you when they are building your order, even when it's slow.
Second, the restaurant. It's uncomfortably cold in the winter months. Are they trying to save money on the heating bill? Do the staff like it cold? Bring a parka if you plan on dining in, although I don't know why you would, since literally every single table is dirty and full of crumbs - consistently. Bathrooms are equally dirty.
Side note - why the heck did they close the Highland Park location? That one was always amazing. Maybe not 2004 amazing, but pretty close.
Now, it seems Chipotle only exists to please the shareholders, and the Deerfield location makes this...
Read moreUpdate: I would like to point out that I have now read other reviews about this chipotle location and it’s clear that this has been ongoing for a long time with no progress made by chipotle management. Sad really, how the poor quality and service of this location has not been addressed.
This chipotle location is the worst I’ve ever been to. Always issues with my online orders in terms of both portion size and correct ingredients. If they don’t have something, rather than reaching out they just don’t put it in there (for example if i pay extra for guacamole) or even just throw in what they feel like. Rather than ordering online i then started ordering in person. First of all it seems like all of the workers are just a bunch of friends, because they didn’t bother to pay attention to me and were just chatting away, playing loud music and messing around in the back. When they finally made the time to help me, the portion size was fine, but when i asked for salad dressing they told me they didn’t have any (even though i was literally looking at the salad dressing in the fridge behind the counter). I asked the cashier “what about what’s in the fridge?” They then proceeded to tell me that the salad dressing is only for people that order a salad (so he blatantly lied to me before). I have been to many chipotle locations and have never had an experience like this, so I don’t think this is a pervasive chipotle issue. But I think it’s important for people to know that this location in particular is awful, and for chipotle management to know that whoever is managing this location should take a hard look at local management and consider monitoring/changing up local management to live up to the standards that we as loyal chipotle customers have...
