JB's Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in DeFuniak Springs

I've been coming to Plateful Chinese Buffet for 6 years, every summer when I work in the area. As long as you understand what you're going in for, this place is darn good. Great? Probably not. It's worn and the selection is good but not huge. But, what they have is tasty. During the dinner rush, the food cycles pretty well and stays hot. The sushi looked decent (though, honestly, I don't risk it at places like this). The ice cream machine was a standard item but appreciated by my kid (even though the ice cream was a little too soft). Dinner (with 2 waters) for my 10 year old and myself came in under $25 (age 6-10 gets almost a half price discount from adult) and she loved it. Also, my server kept my water glass at 50% or more the entire meal, which is quite a fear with me 😬😁. All in all, no complaints....

This place has gone downhill quick. It used to be good now the food is low quality. The sushi sits out on the bar till it dries out and gets hard. The guy making sushi pulls full plates of sushi to set back on a freezer instead of keeping temperature controlled so the roll I actually wanted was pulled before I could get. And it sat out for over an hour before he placed on bar to be served. The hibachi bar usually isn't fully stocked and when you ask to refill something he says the don't have anymore [ asked him at 430 pm ] before dinner rush. Really great place to eat here at plateful! Been coming here for years and extremely reasonable prices with absolutely great food!!!! Hibachi grill too no extra cost! This is my and my fiance favorite place to eat!! Update: used to not have a hard time choosing to sit where we want have had trouble lately with the new servers waitresses trying to not let us sit on the side we prefer that is always open and near the parking lot...
