Happy Wok Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in DeKalb Township

We ordered delivery tonight 11/13/20 for the first time in along while. I hate complaining, especially in 2020 when everything is so hard - Im sure they were busy tonight & every place has it's good and bad days, so I'll start with the good: Order was correct & everything had a decent flavor.... BUT Delivery was 45 minutes late (ETA 6:30; arrival 7:15; order was placed at 5:40PM) and arrived room temperature - cold. The Seseme Chicken was all stuck together (probably from being hot and in an enclosed container trapped in hot steam too long), dry and almost like someone had tried to keep it warm for too long or had reheated it. Due to this, it no longer tasted "freshly made." I'm afraid to reheat it and dry it out more than it already is....I dont think theres much hope to salvage left overs. The Lo Mein temp is best described as "Chilled" - not even cool or room temp but "chilled." So I'm eating cold Chinese food with chicken that tastes like it's been reheated that is now cold again for dinner tonight. 😔

Because the flavor is overall good and our order was correct, I'll try again... but was extremely disappointed tonight and feel like I wasted my money on food I cant even reheat myself to take for work lunch tomorrow. Was really craving Chinese and I'm sure it would have been a much better experience if it had gotten to us fresh and hot!

Not at all impressed.. Ordered Mongolian Beef and Fried Rice as a Friday night treat for pick up. When I got there the doors were locked for Covid and signs said to go to drive-thru. There were 7 cars in front of me and I waited in line for almost 20 minutes. People were honking and starting to get rude. I had ordered online so when I got to the window, I gave the attendant my debit card and was handed my order quickly and then drove home. By this time everything was cold. When I opened the sack at home I noticed an odd smell and saw that my paper box container was leaking a lot of juice and had been tied up inside a plastic bag. The amount of liquid in that box was ridiculous! I’m sorry, but I’ve never seen this dish in liquid form. The fried rice was absolutely tasteless. And the Mongolian beef was putrid. Sparse strips of beef and pickled onions swimming in a soup of rancid vinegared soy sauce! I can’t believe I actually tried to eat it, but had to push it away. The price was very reasonable, until I actually saw and tasted the food. I’ll spend the money and go to Yen Ching next time. Sorry Happy...

I have been coming here for a while and the service and food has been good. I dont know what happened all of a sudden but the service has gone way down the last few times. The most recent time, i pulled in to the drive through. The owner told me to pull up to the window when i am ready to order. Which i understand because there was a train going by so it was hard hear. I pulled up to the window and sat there for 10 minutes while knocking on the window. They would look at me but ignore me. I was getting upset. I went inside to complain and they denied that they had told me to pull to window. I asked them why they were ignoring me and they wre silent. Didnt offer anything for the inconvenience or even apologize. I will have a hard...
