Honestly on a whole this place has done done too badly by me. We oftentimes order a medium and a large pizza and end up with two larges, which is fantastic. Tonight was not the same kind of feel which is unfortunate for Donatos because tonight is when google asked me to review this place. Whoops on their part I guess. Tonight was kind of a mess. Like, I understand it's a 'holiday' but it should still have a better outcome on a whole. I ordered two pizzas for pickup, one medium pepperoni and one large works pizza. I had a coupon for a 'buy one large pizza, get a medium one-topping free.' Maybe it was my fault for using that on a holiday. But whatever. I ordered and picked up the pizza and the payment process was fine. I was able to use my coupon which I was stoked about. I put the pizzas in the car and went home. I noticed in the process they were not as warm as they could've been but I chalked it up to a busy night and went home. Getting home I realized when my partner opened their box their pizza was wrong and instead of a large works it was a large cheese (included as a photo in this review) I really don't know how you mess that up from the most-loaded pizza to the most-basic pizza you sell and then my medium pepperoni was not thoroughly cooked. Mine was an easy fix and could go back in the oven. Theirs was not. I called to get it fixed and they had a manager talk to me who said not to worry about it and they'd make it fresh for me when I came in. I asked about 20 minutes? And they confirmed the similar time window. I arrived at about 18 minutes into my 20 for a pizza pickup and it wasn't ready. I was standing and waiting while the cashiers were moving orders around to the warmers and taking incoming customers. I was met with a friendly what can I get you and I responded with I called back because my pizza was incorrect. They said ok and rather aimlessly looked for it. About 9 minutes later a person from the kitchen called out my order and my name and I celebrated and approached the counter. I waited on someone to pay attention to the order showing up (took about a minute+ for someone to notice) and then I asked if I could have my order and they looked through four others before they landed on the one I specifically requested to get. I happily retrieved it after checking it out to ensure it was the right kind this time and then headed to the car to get home. We made it back and opened my (now cold) pepperoni and their works pizza which was somewhat lukewarm with somewhat uncooked mushrooms and peppers. Overall, on a normal day, I'd recommend this place because Donatos is just somewhat of a staple for decently ok pizza. But not after tonight's kerfuffle and frustration. For those who have gotten this far in my review, it's probably nearing meme-grade now, thanks for tuning in and I promise I'm not usually the Karen type but today's just been a day and I wasn't...
Read moreI stopped by the Delaware, Ohio store. I ordered online through the app. I went inside the store and paid the bill to dine in. I had a fountain drink and ordered a Big Don Marinara with sausage. It said my order would be ready in twenty minutes. I picked up my cup to drink.
After 25 minutes of waiting, I walked back up front. The person who took my order was busy doing stuff in the back. Other people in the kitchen saw me and said nothing. I thought they would communicate with the guy who was out front earlier, but no one came out. I thought they may tell the counter guy that there is a customer out front and he would come to my table, but he did not.
I went back to my table and waited another eight minutes, and then went up to the counter again. The counter guy saw me and asked me how help. I said I came in and paid for a meal because I thought he had forgotten I was there. He asked me my name and went to the kitchen. He pulled my order. I told him I was very disappointed.
I went to my table and opened the sub, and took a bite. It was a Big Don Italian with sausage. I let him know there was a problem with the order. He said he would have the kitchen fix it immediately and make a new sub.
In a short while, he came out with the sub and asked me to verify it was done right. I opened the sub and asked where the sausage was. He slapped his head and said that he had forgotten to tell the person to add sausage. He said he could bring out the sausage in a few minutes. In about five minutes, he had a small container with sausage crumbles.
I finally was able to eat. He said he apologized for all the confusion, and even though it was irritating, I was okay. Sometimes, things go wrong. He said he would like to offer a two liter beverage. I didn't care to receive a two liter bottle, but I accepted.
The meal went fine. I hope that the store must work their people to make sure they pay attention to the details and work as a team. If the counter person knew ordered to dine in, he should be looking for the order in 15 minutes and check on me to let me know if there is a delay. Secondly, when he put the order in the second time, he should have made sure it was correct.
The other issue was that when someone saw me originally, the people in the back should have contacted the counter person immediately to check on the customer out front. ...
Read moreOrdered take out from the Delaware Ohio site tonight, where I have been ordering for years with the same phone number and they had no idea who I was or where I lived for delivery. Ordered a big don Italian sub with extra meat add pepperoni as I have for years. Person who took my phone order didn't know how to enter it into the computer had to ask someone. Went and picked it up went home and the sub had 4 pieces of salami 2 small wads of ham and some pepperoni, I didn't notice till I took a bite. I then returned to Donatos and told them this was unacceptable, where upon I was told by the person who was asking me what the problem was, that she had measured out the portions herself. I then opened the sub up and showed her the amount of meat in the sub. Whereupon she informed me that it must have fallen off,at this point I asked to speak to the manager and was informed that she was the manager. By this point I had had enough, and told her to just give me my money back and I would go down the street to a rival establishment and get what I asked for. I will never purchase something from Donatos again. I use to call and they would get my phone number and say hi Mr. Anderson how are you today, now they don't know who I am! So they must have changed owners, and no longer need my business! I'm sure Amatos will love my patronage! The ham must have fallen off........
