I can absolutely say that my time spent here was one of the very best experiences I've had. I went to have my hair dyed back to its natural color (a light brunette/very dirty blonde) after having box-bleached it for four years, once a year. Every salon near my hometown said that it would be impossible or horrifically expensive to get my hair dyed back. I called and Spencer, who answered the phone, was very patient with me and extremely attentive. When I arrived, my stylist Ashley was waiting for me and she did a color-match to my roots and applied the product to my hair. My friend and I were offered coffee, tea, or water while we waited for the dye to take. I was extremely nervous about the color (and about rinsing my hair, because the last time I let someone do it I felt like i was drowning) but rinsing was arguably the best part. The water was a perfect temperature and I was given a warm towel for my neck and it was just very soothing. Ashley even took the initiative to suggest a toner, for my roots had turned red because of the dye, and the toner made it perfect. I walked in incredibly nervous and I walked out extremely happy. If you are looking for an amazing hair salon, visit 1820 Collective. I just love this place; great people, amazing-smelling products, and an awesome atmosphere. Everyone is so nice here, from the owner, to the receptionist to the amazing stylists. I've been coming here for about a year and a half and I only have positive things to say. This building is historic and so charming and cozy inside. And of course, I'm biased, but if you want a stylist who really listens to you and understands how you want your hair cut, schedule an appointment with Kassy. Everytime I come in, she takes her time to understand what I want that visit and then I get spoiled with the heated neck rest at the sink and the footstool, not to mention the fireplace. My first visit with this salon was phenomenal. After seeing the same stylist for 12 years, I've struggled finding someone who makes me feel comfortable with my dermatological issues while having my hair cut. Often it's felt like a new stylist is more interested in changing my hairstyle instead of helping to maintain the health and future of my hair.

1820 Collective is definitely the place I've been looking for. They care about the future of your hair's health and appearance.
