This is a very complicated review for me to write. We have been there twice, the first time for happy hour and appetizers and the other day for dinner. We have sat at the bar on both occasions. On the first we had a few drinks, a pound of shrimp and a basket of fried green beans. We later order burgers. I do give Yellowfin credit, because they will do their best to adapt to gluten-free if possible. The service on this occasion was great.
The issue arises with our recent visit on 2/21. There was limited seating at the bar to start when we arrived around 7:00PM. The only set of two chairs were all the way at the end on the right close to the wait station which definitely wasn't ideal. I was forced to sit next to a trio of senior citizens, the man was driving around his wife and friend who were absolutely sloshed. When I thought they were leaving, they had to drink more and hinder us from moving down. Because of where we were sitting and the loud drunks next to us we received horrible service throughout the night. I became very irritated. We received no plates or utensils, napkins, etc. when we received our wings. The Yellowfin wings have a wonderful sweet and spicy flavor topped with fresh ginger and herbs. I would order again. I had ordered the crab cakes with a side salad and my friend ordered the duck breast special. The food was very good. My salad came out after my crab cakes which upset me, so I told them to put it in a to go bag. I had ordered it without crouton since I have Celiac Disease, but when I opened the salad the next day, it was smothered in croutons. I spoke to the manager about how unhappy I was. He said he would take care of us and deducted a measly 10% from our bill. If I looked like I needed or wanted a Senior Citizen discount I would have asked for one. This just infuriated me further! I let the bartender know how unhappy I was as well. We're trying to establish ourselves at a place around here. The food is very good, but this last service really leaves a lot to be desired. I will have to see what develops...
Read moreThis restaurant was highly recommended to us by a friend. Our experience started off fine with no problems. We ordered our drinks and food. Our problems started when a runner brought out our soup. Only one soup was brought out when we ordered two. May I add that the first soup was cold. When the waitress come back to check up, we alerted her about the missing soup, which is when the problems started. The waitress gave attitude, and later arrived with our second soup. Our food was brought out. One of our meals was missing a side salad and fried mushrooms/onions. Another meal did not have its side of green beans, due to the fact that the restaurant ran out of green beans. The waitress added a remark of sarcasm towards another person in our party saying how she is the reason that my meal did not have green beans. To add to the insult, the restaurant replaced the green beans with squash/zucchini, without even asking what I would like instead of the green beans. Total disregard for the customer. Three of our four meals were ribeye, all of which were very fatty and close to saying they were undercooked. After our lackluster meals, We had split checks. Our waitress, whose attitude continued throughout the whole meal, charged both bills to one card, instead of billing to both cards. We went to management to fix the problem, and the manager was curt. It was obvious that the manager was irritated with the whole situation and tried to get us out as quick as possible, as if we were the problem, and not the overall service of the restaurant. Through the bill problem, our waitress repeatedly did not claim ownership for multiple issues. Once our bills were corrected, the ownership showed no empathy towards the situation, and walked away as if this never happened. There were no sorry's given, no refunds, nothing happened afterwards. This was the first and last time we will be going to...
Read moreI had a funny feeling when we walked in and they had Hell's Kitchen on the tv. Their website says check their Facebook page for specials but I didn't find any. Turns out it was Prime Rib night and the place was packed.
My wife was craving a burger so that's what we ordered once the server took our order (a ten minute wait). About twenty minutes later the burgers arrived. My son's burger was cold. He ended up leaving and walked down to Brickworks where they made him a great burger. My burger was just slightly warm and pretty much lacked flavor (I recently had a great burger at Chesapeake and Main- no contest here). My burger came with red onions which I hate and did not order. After a while I informed the runner. She took it back and a few minutes later returned it (someone removed the red onion rather than giving me a new bun). Then I discovered I didn't get the pickles I had ordered. Our server was busy so it took quite a while before she checked on us. I asked for the pickles and my wife orders a beer. A few minutes later she brings the pickles- like, eight of them. Huh? The beer never arrived. After a few bites of the lukewarm burger I had enough. Luckily, my wife decided to finish hers at home. I caught the server and asked for to-go boxes. That's when she was quick (go figure).
They get two stars for Food because my wife got what she ordered and liked it. She wanted a burger and got a burger. Happy wife...
They get no stars for Service because they were not good.
They get no stars for Atmosphere because I didn't find it appealing. They have double doors at the entry but they left the inner door open so cold air came in every time somebody came or went. Of course, we were seated right by the door. It was noisy but not in a fun way. I didn't hear background music.
I won't be back...
