A Complete Failure of Service: One Hour Wasted, No Pizza, and a Hungry 4-Year-Old
I am compelled to write this review to document the absolute worst and most disrespectful customer service I have ever encountered. What should have been a simple weeknight pizza dinner turned into an infuriating hour-long ordeal that ended with us leaving empty-handed.
I placed my order for a pepperoni pizza at 6:00 PM. My order number was 1991, placed under the name Claudio, with a scheduled pickup time of 6:20 PM.
I arrived exactly on time at 6:20 PM. I let the gentleman at the counter know I was there for my pickup. He told me it would be "6 minutes" and then turned away. I patiently waited. Those six minutes turned into twenty. As I waited, I could clearly see that same employee now sitting in the back area, scrolling on his phone, having completely forgotten about my inquiry.
At this point, I approached a female employee for help. I explained I had been waiting for twenty minutes for an order that was supposed to be ready. She went to the kitchen area, came back, and told me the pizza was "in the oven." This gave me a brief bit of hope that it would be out soon.
Another fifteen minutes passed with no pizza and no update. My 4-year-old son was getting restless and repeatedly telling me he was hungry. I had to ask the same woman again for the status. Without checking this time, she just said they were "working on it" and then busied herself with a tablet, effectively ending the conversation.
Finally, after what was now nearly an hour of waiting, a third employee, another man, came to the front. I explained the entire situation to him from the beginning, letting him know how long I had been waiting with my young son. He began looking on top of the ovens, in the heated holding area where they keep the finished to-go pizzas waiting for pickup. He scanned the entire rack, but my order wasn't there. He then looked inside the actual ovens. Nothing. He came back to the counter and confirmed that my pizza was nowhere to be found. It had never been made.
After an hour of being lied to, ignored, and given false updates, there was no pizza. The most appalling part was the staff's attitude. There was no apology for the immense delay, no offer to rush the order, and absolutely zero empathy for the fact that they had a customer with a hungry child waiting for an hour because of their incompetence. It felt like we were an inconvenience they wished would just disappear.
We left with no food. It was a humiliating and frustrating experience. We will never return...
Read moreA visit to the Strawberry Girls would not be complete for me with out the fantastic Italian fare of Bambini's Garden Pizzeria located right next door. On my most recent visit I chose the meatball and chicken parmesan hero's and the antipasto salad. They serve huge portions of food . There was plenty to feed my family of three with leftovers for the next day. The food is also outrageously delicious and very reasonably priced. In the past I have tried some of the specialty pizzas like the Caprese which I highly recommend. If I lived closer, this would be a regular stop for me.
The guys who work here deserve props. First off I love their red and white striped uniforms. They look so festive. Secondly these guys can hustle. They take multi tasking to a new level. They can take your order while simultaneously delivering someone else's food to them. They are serving the people with the take out orders while getting mass amounts of food out to the dinning area without sacrificing quality or time. While I waited for my dinner I got lot's of friendly updates as to when my food would be ready. Normally I phone in my orders when I get take out because I can't stand waiting for my food but not here. Food is delivered lightening fast and you have the option of waiting in the garden.
This brings me to one of the most unique things about Bambini's. If you dine in you have the option of eating your food in the Strawberry Girl's garden. While you wait for your food you can stroll the garden and visit the Girl's many beautiful birds. Bambini's is a recent addition to the Strawberry Girls plaza and it certainly has proved a popular one. Every time I come to the Girls now I see added seating for Bambini's. It used to be just a few picnic tables out back but has now expanded to a covered patio and half the Girl's store has now been turned into a restaurant where you can get table service for Bambini's.
If you find you have room after your fantastic dinner, head next door to the girls for ice cream delights or wander a few doors in the plaza to Grandma's bakery for every kind of Italian dessert that you can think up. And if like me you cannot get enough of Bambini's meatballs, they can be purchased just down the road at the Boys market. So many places to explore, and so many culinary...
Read moreTook the kids here yesterday as they haven’t been since they were babies, and don’t really remember anything. I swear this time we had wayyyyyyyy more fun! They have a huge candy/toy/ice cream shop with a pizza place attached. Granted the pizza is not anything special to be quite honest, but the Garlic Rolls are amazing! (Ask for extra garlic) For 3 of us to eat 1 slice each, with 3 drinks and 1 roll was $20 bucks. So not that bad, price wise. But not cheap. There are places inside or outside by the animals to eat your food, on a nice day it’s amazing to be able to sit outside with the Animals! Then a trip behind the Shops boasts a beautiful Zoo like place with Fish, Goats, Swans, Pigeons, Chickens, Donkeys, Mini Horses, Parrots of all kinds and a baby animal petting Zoo, which keeps kids very very busy! You can also feed about 100 Parakeets in a Huge enclosure, they littlerly run all over you if you have food for them. It’s pretty awesome! For 1 adult and 2 kids with 1 Bag of Lettuce and 1 Cup of fruit/veggies it cost $27 bucks. So not too bad, not to mention all proceeds go to caring for these amazing animals! They also have a train and that’s a separate charge, 1 adult 2 kids cost $8.99. And it does 2 loops around the park! It’s bumpy but fun! You can ride or walk along side of it while your kids ride if you don’t wanna pay for adult ticket. There are so many animals to feed and they give you a pretty decent size for the price. We were able to make it the entire afternoon with what we bought! We talked a lot with the Petting zoo employee, he was really knowledgeable and so kind. He let the kids hold the bunnies and baby chicks and baby ducks many times. My girls were thrilled. ALL the employees here are kind and smile at you, which I really appreciated. Overall it’s an amazing place to visit with your kids for an afternoon. Weekends are way busier, so if you want a less busy time come weekdays! Highly recommend place to take the kids and have a nice lunch! We all look forward to...
