Entire experience from the start was a disappointment. This was our first time at the place and our uncertainty must have been worn on our faces as we walked through the outdoor seating area to the inside. So there were two servers, 1 guy and 1 girl (who was playing with what looked like a pooper scooper). Our greeting by the guy was, "Hi, welcome, have you guys been here before?" "Wait are you guys sure you're not looking for the Bamboo Fire Cafe?" (Huh?? You mean the next door Caribbean restaurant??...umm no) ...does everyone get the same reccomendation or was it because my boyfriend had dreads that it was a fair assumption to make that we were in the wrong place??? Ok, so that was negative point #1. We made our beer selection and chose a table outside to order food. Quite a few of the patrons had their dogs at the restaurant, but the table next to the one we chose thought it totally acceptable to have their multiple DOGS ON TOP OF THE TABLE. How disgusting!! Negative point #2. After waiting several minutes at the table to be greeted by someone to place our food order, the girl server stops at the dog table first to play with the dogs before mozying over to the "misplaced blacks". So she comes to ask for our order and in my head I'm screaming "NO FRIGGIN WAY!!" But we politely declined and tried to quickly finish our drinks to leave. But not before Mr. server guy came out, stopped to play with the doggies, and came over to make recommendations on the menu for us to place an order. "The food is really good here" he said, "You guys would probably enjoy the wings". I'm sorry, am I being super sensitive here?? Was there nothing else in the menu that the "black couple" could enjoy?? Didn't get a chance to try their alleged amazing food because we couldn't get past these dogs on the table, our servers playing with the dogs, and potentially racist remarks and suggestions. We won't be going back there. Definitely prefer better sanitation...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis past weekend I was attending the arts festival in Delray Beach, FL. Just a 3 minute walk from the booths and the crowds is Beer Trade Co.
This place provides an excellent atmosphere for you and a group of friends to catch up over beers and some grub. They've got just a handful of beers on tap to compliment the dozens of beer choices you can make at the partially self-service bar.
As you go inside the payout counter is immediately to the right. That's where the beers on tap are located. If you don't have any patience for that, and want to serve yourself, as you enter you're facing 5 or 6 refrigerator coolers (like what you'll see at a gas station) with all sorts of beers to choose from. Pick the bottle (or can) you'd like, and take it to your table. Keep the bottle and bring it to the payout counter because that's how they'll charge you.
We only ordered a couple of appetizers - the bacon mac & cheese (DELICIOUS!) and the dip with pita bread (also delicious!). Only hitch was the food took forever (though I'm pretty sure the waiter forgot to put in our order until we actually asked for an update about 30 minutes later).
They had a 3-person live band playing outside on the covered patio - excellent threesome. Good tunes.. not too loud that you couldn't enjoy a conversation!
Great atmosphere... great beer selection... great food... so-so on the service... overall excellent place to hang with buddy or two on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I'll...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFinally getting around to doing this review on our third time here, and obviously, being that we've come back already three times, we love it! My fiance is obsessed with their wings, and their staff is so friendly and helpful. Tonight, we had Mateo and Sophia. Mateo even remembered the style wings my fiance loved. It was around 4:30 on Wednesday during happy hour and in addition on Wednesdays it's $10 for 10 wings which is awesome šš» š we ordered two batches of wings, obviously on purpose so he can have some extra wings for tomorrow lunch. He loves the old bay honey jalapeƱo wings, and in addition, today tried the hot buffalo with garlic added. I tried the steak sandwich for the first time with blue cheese dressing and swiss, and it was so delicious and tasty and did not have an overwhelming blue cheese taste whatsoever! It also came with their delicious Old Bay boardwalk fries. I tried both a key lime wheat beer and a sour beer that was delicious. Refer to my pictures LOL, and the other half had Shiner Bock on special, and he had a #four on draft, which changes, so he can't remember the name š we can't wait to come back. I've included pictures of the food beers and all the menus, including the current special beer that...
