Guyanese Inspired Caribbean Dinner-Only downtown Delray Beach

This family owned and operated restaurant has been building up their following over the last 10 years here in the Pineapple Grove area of downtown Delray Beach. They are only opened Wednesday-Sunday for Dinner with Sunday hours starting at 2pm-8:30pm. Bamboo Fire Cafe closes at 11:00 pm on Fridays and 11:30pm on Saturdays. We asked Donald, one of the owners, to explain what makes this restaurant cuisine unique and he shared that his wife brought menus from their hometown of Guyana with Indian and Asian influences. It was a Sunday night and we just wanted a light bite. This was our first time so decided to try a few things . We started with the Dahl soup and it had a nice spicy kick and smooth texture and taste. The eggplant dip had garlic and was served with garlic bread slices. The main entree we ordered was Macaroni and Cheese with pork and it was served with a salad with diced tomatoes and fresh flavors. The Macaroni and cheese was made was thick and rich in flavor and texture and it came with a side of okra fried rice topped with sweet plantains. Everything here was unexpected and delicious. The setting is small and nothing fancy but the family was very helpful and hospitable and the food was really excellent and very fairly priced. We're looking forward to going back to this restaurant in downtown Delray Beach soon. Lauren provided very...

Hopefully somebody tells you this place exists because you might not find it on your own, which is a damn shame. Family owned and operated, it's a tiny spot, where you will see multiple generations of family, who cook and serve you food filled with love.

We came in here on a Saturday evening and were the only ones in here at 5:30 PM. The jerk meatballs, the roti with eggplant, the conch fritters… all the appetizers were fantastic. Be prepared for a little bit of heat in your food. The tables are a little bit small, so if you order as much food as we did, you'll have to find a way to figure it out.

I'm not a huge fan of vegetarian meals, but I had no idea coconut fried tofu, could be so spectacular. I was blown away, don't be afraid to order this. We also ordered the oxtail, which was so tender, and in a thick brown spicy with a hint of sweet sauce. The curry goat was fall off the bone. Fantastic. Don't worry if you have to keep ordering , bowls and bowls of rice (you will), they are so happy to accommodate.

As we went through our dinner, the place started to fill up and it was real nice to see that everybody in here was a regular. Obviously the locals know this place, and may want to keep it a secret, the cats out of the bag. If you like Caribbean food, this is not to be missed. You can thank me later.

PS: This is a beer and...

Just had thee most amazing food from here. I did a pick up order (first time customer from St.Pete), greeted with such kindness and friendliness. Ordered the fried plantains with aioli, curry chk and jerk pork...came with salads, rice and sweet plantains. Everything was cooked to perfection. Plantain fries were gone before we could sit down! Meats were moist, flavorful; loved the rice! Had an earthy spice, ever so slight sweet cinnamon undertone with okra. Probably one of the best Jamaican jerk flavors on the meats I've ever tried. Not Americanized jerk flavors. Salads were fresh and savory with tomatoes and mangos. Sweet plantains were amazing...Quality of food was on point. Trying to find more adjectives without repeating. Cant say enough good things. Wish I lived closer to eat...

First time visiting and we had a great time! Smiley was our server and she was so sweet and upbeat and attentive! We tried several different foods including jerk meatballs and plantain fries and let me tell you....AMAZINGGGGG!!!! Definitely a new favorite. I ordered curry chicken but I also tried the oxtails. They were so tender and flavorful and the curry chicken was good too. Family owned Guyanese business that deserves a shout out! There is also a beer cooler bar next door that can offer some interesting entertainment if you eat outside 🤭 we watched a gentleman do the worm across the side walk and he nailed it! Overall fun time and great experience and would definitely come back to support!

We came here for dinner early on a Saturday night and it was fantastic! Donald (the owner, I think) took care of our orders. We had conch fritters (delicious!), jerk meatballs, and plantain fries as starters. Donald had brought us a sample of the jerk meatballs and after we tasted them, we wanted more. For dinner, we had the oxtail pepper pot, which I highly recommend, and jerk chicken. It's a small place but the food is phenomenal. We're definitely coming back again next time we're in the area. We took menus and cards to pass out at our hotel. I highly recommend this place. Delicious!

Best Caribbean place ever! I loved all the plates I tried tonight. It was raining so we couldn't have the whole outside ambiance, but the food itself was worth it. Service was outstanding. We had tostones with jerk pork as an appetizer and sangria, both exceptional. The tostones were definitely home made, and I mean smashed to order. For entrees we had fried whole snapper, chicken curry with roti, and jerk pork. One of the sides was ocra rice... my friends this was amazing, not just good, AMAZING.
