Walked in on a Saturday night and was greeted by the hostess after a minute or two of standing by the door. There was no line, and a couple empty tables outside. We opted to sit inside at the communion high top. My girlfriend sat next to me as opposed to opposite me so that she could read the specials they had up on the chalkboard. A few minutes went by and the Hostess came up and told us we couldn't sit side by side, that my girlfriend had to move across from me. She didn't ask us to move, she told us we had to move, her reasoning being that she wanted to fit more people up on the high top. We understood, and we made the adjustment. A few moments later, she sat a group of 3 or 4 not right next to us, but one seat away from us. I thought this was strange because if she was trying to save room to fit more people at the hightop I would expect her to sit the next couple right next to us, not one chair away. It didn't make sense. So I asked my waiter to call her over and we could discuss it. I asked why my girlfriend had to move so that I could sit next to an empty seat with a purse in it. (The purse had been put there by the new group). All I got was more attitude and an explaination that she couldn't let us take up a 4-top of seats on a Saturday night. I told her I see plenty of couples sitting at tables designed for 4 people and that if that was the case why did she leave an empty chair between us and the new couple? All I got was "I can go get the owner if you'd like." We left. It turns out the hostess is also the manager, Noel. I wasn't upset, and I wasn't raising my voice. I was just pointing out that her resolution didn't make any sense to me and she didn't handle herself well. It's too bad, the food looked great and I was excited to eat here for the first time. But being a local, I have way too many options in Delray to be dealing with Noel and her...
Read moreBouncy/noise so hard to hear those having dinner with you. Wait staff seem nice, but undertrained. Request for water, and later for a cocktail, we're acknowledged, but not pro ide d until a second request was made. The r of us decided to order several appetizers - and did so starting with four, then 2, then 2 more so that the kitchen had no opportunity to serving at its pleasure and thus forcing us to eat faster. The server was told we 4 would share all appetizers; and appropriate plating occurred. We brought in a 1988 Salon and a 1990 brunello đi montelchino. The server did not O OW how to open. The $20 corkage fee was more than fair. The server did not know how to open champaign bottle - trying to do so with her standard wine-pull. I Sked her to return the bottle to me and showed her how to find the tab for the wire, etc. And how to remove the bottle from the cork. Another server opened and did well in decanting the brunnello shortly after we were seated, so it had a good hour to "open." I can report both wines were beautiful and stillad years to go. One of the first 4 included squash flowers. Three were served - which is what is said on the menu. The server was asked if - because there were 4 of us she had thought to ask if we wanted either 4 of that appetizer or a double order of the three. Fussy? I know, but we expect a server to alert us to the "3" as this was - as we told here - our first time at this restaurant. The wine list had truly aged wine, but the wine they had available Le was - for the most.part from very good vineyards. Overall the food, etc. Was a 3. However, should we return to that area we would give the place another try because I believe they...
Read moreThis place is actually disgusting. Went here with my family and dog and sat outside and had the rudest server. She took forever to come to our table and didn't bother to clean it properly. It started to drizzle and we asked to be put inside or have the umbrella put on and she said "the umbrella is wonky" meaning that she doesn't want to do it for us. And she said "yeah inside is not happening". So we ate our lunch in the rain. I have a dairy allergy so it took some time to ask her questions and she stormed off and said "I have a lot of tables" and I was literally talking to her for only 15 seconds asking for recommendations. My family got their meals before mine and they said it was absolutely disgusting quality and shows a lack of passion and effort from the business and chef. I ordered the lamb burger and the center was raw and frozen when split in half After waiting for my meal after everyone else's already came out. The server then said it was "rare" trying to argue with me. I left with no lunch to eat and a horrible experience and service. That server that had the outside section by the entry should be fired because clearly she hates her job and people when I'm trying to enjoy myself with my family she should know how important time is with family. Honestly I'm in shock she didn't cop the bill. Money hungry is what it is and a lack of accountability and being apologetic. No apology came from her mouth. Just a send back and the check fast (unlike her service) to get us out of the restaurant. Overall would not come here again and WARNING don't come here unless you want food...
