Atrocious customer service, horribly disappointing! My family recently moved to Delray Beach and we love to support local businesses, so I was excited to find this gem. However, I was soon aghast by the services provided. The issues I ran into were:

Rude staff Incompetent customer service Inaccurate quotes and overcharging No report on what was done or even confirmation of services completed

From first appearance I was very hopeful. The store has a lot of Nikon gear which I found to be a good sign since our family owns four Nikon cameras and over a dozen lenses. To test out the service, I brought in one of my camera bodies for a simple sensor cleaning. I'm glad I didn't do anymore because that was a nightmare. The first time I walked in and asked whether the store provided the service of sensor cleaning and if they were certified by Nikon since Nikon Professional Services (NPS) warned me against using businesses that are not. Issue #1 the sales person at the counter wouldn't answer that question. Then I asked how much it costs, knowing the price that NPS charges. The same sales person quoted me a price and then I asked about a lens I was thinking of purchasing to see if the store had it. Rather than answer my question, he talked down to me and said I should bring all my gear in and they would tell me what I needed. Frustrated with this experience, I decided to come back anyways for the sensor cleaning and hope I got a different person. Indeed, the next visit, I was fortunate to get someone else, who actually seemed to know what they were talking about. However, when I pulled out multiple lenses he seemed confused as to why I would bring them in for a sensor cleaning. I mentioned that the first person told me to bring in all my gear and I was just bringing a few lenses, one of which was catching sometimes, and I wasn't sure if there was something wrong with the lens. This new person gave me a different quote on the sensor cleaning $10 more than the first person's estimate and that is before adding tax. He said that he would look at the lens to see if it needed to be calibrated and would let me know. I figured that would be fine, if it needed calibration, I would order a focus pyramid and spend a couple hours calibrating my lens once the sensor was clean. Two days later, I get a call saying my camera is ready to pick up. I get there and the people who seem to know what they are doing were in the back and could not be bothered to give any kind of report on my camera. I am handed my camera and a receipt. When I asked for my lens the sales person seemed confused. I had to show him my receipt and explain to him that there was a lens of mine left to check whether it needed calibration. He went back and returned with my lens. I then asked, "so did they think it needs calibration" to which he told me he doesn't work with the cameras and the people that do are busy and I should "just play with it at home to see if it works better." I then asked, "did they calibrate it?" because that was not what I thought was going to happen. The guy said he didn't know but then proceeded to charge me for a calibration that he wasn't sure had been completed. In the end, my bill was over double what I had been quoted.

I will not be returning to this business to purchase any lenses or future camera equipment. I will send my equipment to NPS for any cleaning and/or repair and ordering from Hunt's Photo or B&H as they provide high caliber service and can be depended on. I will not be recommending Delray Camera Shop to any family, friends, or fellow nature photographers. I only wish I had been warned prior to this experience so I would know to avoid this shop. Hopefully this review can save someone else from what I just had...

I would not recommend anyone to go to this shop.I took my flash to them over a month ago it almost two months now. No one called me to give me a estimate .Like how they did with a previous visit when I dropped my lens off to them.So after 3 weeks I said thats strange they didnt call me about the estimate.Like how they did last time so I called them. When I first called the guy said I'm with a customer so I cant help you and hung the phone up in my ear.So I gave it a couple of hours I called back .Same guy answered I gave him my name my contact number, receipt number and told him what kind of equipment I dropped off .He said he would call me back .A whole week goes by NOTHING NO CALL OR ANYTHING.So I called back same guy answers the phone. This time oh I dont see anything coming up with that name .So Im like okay well I definitely dropped it off to you guys plus paid the shipping and I still have my receipt. He was very rude pretty much well I dont see anything I cant help you. He told me to call back another day when some guy would be there.I called back I gave this guy my information and I informed him on how rude the other worker has been.He apologized and said he has been getting alot of customers call to complain about him .He said he will call me back .Which he did that day but he pretty much said they are trying to locate it and he has called Nikon and some other place to see which one of the two has it. Once he locates it I will get a call .Another week goes by NOTHING mind you its now been over a month.Everytime I called after that the same rude guy answers. So from what I gathered they have lost my flash and dont know where its at .I spoke to the Manager Friday after getting in a very heated conversation with the rude guy .He said he will call and email Nikon and stay on top of this. He said even though he is emailing them its Friday. I wouldnt hear anything until Monday because they are closed over the weekend .Which is understandable . Monday goes by Tuesday goes by nothing .Its now Wednesday I still havent heard anything from them.I wouldnt recommend anyone to go here your better off sending in your own equipment. The worker is very unprofessional and you get the run around .Even though the manager was nice when we spoke. But after a customer has told you its been over a month going on two months and they still dont have their equipment. The first thing he should have done Monday was to call Nikon and contact that customer. This is ridiculous I HATE that the camera shop in North Palm Beach closed. I went to that place for years and never had...

Pretty disappointed with the experience here. My mom called and asked for 4 prints of a digital photo in 2 sizes. As instructed, she emailed the file and clearly wrote her request for each size. After two days wait as suggested, she called to check in and they had completely forgot about her order. We wait another two days. Finally going to pick up the photos, they were the wrong size. The employee we spoke to was downright rude and his only response was that the 3x5 size was not standard. Despite my moms formal written request for 3x5s, all he could say was 4x6 is the standard. WE KNOW!!! That’s why the specific request for the nonstandard was made. He eventually said that they could reprint them in the correct size but it would cost more “to photoshop” them and wouldn’t be ready until Monday, now over a week later. What a waste. My 5 year old cousin could crop the photo in 5 minutes! Wish I had just gone to CVS.

Gave two stars because he did let us pay by card even though we didn’t make...

Where cameras come for spa treatments, and bird watchers come to get a better view - This is one-stop shopping. If you have questions, need advice, like to compare notes, or swap "best shot you never got" stories, this is the place! Friendly gents who will offer helpful, learned suggestions, clean your equiptment, or help you find just what you needed, but not what you don't. One step in the door, past ever-encroaching pink flamingos on the front lawn, & you're surrounded by photo &telescopic equiptment of every vintage & variety, just waiting to treat your eyes to that wonderful natural world out there. For added encouragement, there's an informal gallery of anything with feathers lining the walls, almost as impressive as the full scale mural of the wetlands wildlife that covers the entire outside wall of the building. Honest, well-stocked, competitively priced, and homey, this is the Must Stop photo shop for southern Florida. Bring your gear, your questions, your shots and a smile.

Went there to get my film developed and scanned. Was informed my price would be $13 per roll and ended up getting charged 20+ dollars per roll. In addition to that, the scans were sloppy and unprofessional. Lastly, the person in charge of the shop at the time was unpleasant and rude. I would not recommend this shop for anyone interested in film photography. It's dishonest, disingenuous and I'd consider them outright cold.
