This establishment does not check IDs and selectively let's patrons in without ID. I walked into this bar on December 27, unluckily 4 days after my birthday and 4 days after my ID had expired and was rightfully denied entry because of an expired ID. Okay, that was no problem for me. Rules are the rules and they are set for a reason.
My problem with CJs Sports Bar & Grill is the subjective practice regarding ID checks that CJs Sports Bar & Grill chooses to employ. Prior to my ID check, the bartender let in my friend who I went to CJs Sports Bar & Grill with and did not check his ID. She told me she had already seen him before and that his ID was good.
The issue is that ne had never been to CJs before, did not recognize the bartender and laughably did not even have an ID on his person. the bartender when - rightfully - denying me entry told me I needed a valid ID to just be in the establishment and to play pool, that is fine. But when she subjectively let's in another person without doing her job to the extent she did it to another that is a problem and a dangerous reflection of the culture of CJs Sports Bar and Grill.
When a bar chooses to subjectively enforce their ID practices they compromise their integrity and respect in the community as a law-abiding establishment. Not only that, they are violating the law. Plain and simple and should not be permitted. this post is a warning to all future patrons and a notice to the authorities: CJs Sports Bar and Grill - does not care about upholding the law or even their own standards and protocol. they do not ID everyone! They selectively pick out who to ID, based on what I'm not sure. BE WAT OF CJS SPORTS...
Read moreI' m new in the Delray Beach area. I went to this bar because I love to shoot pool. I wad treated as if I were unwelcome, due to my race. The bartender was totally ignoring me when I stepped foot in the bar area. She literally kept rolling her eyes at me and refused to take my order. I had to ask her to take my order. She did so very rudely. I my cell phone sitting beside my half finished drink and went to the ladies rest room. While I was in the rest room, the bartender came in the restroom and asked me what was taking me so long? Afterwards, another female worker came into the restroom and asked me the same exact question. I finally came out of the restroom. When I went back to my seat at the bar, my cell phone was still there, but the waitress had dumped my drink. I asked her what happened to my drink. And she demanded me to pay and leave or she was going to call the cops. I never made it to the pool tables. And this incident occured on Friday June 18,2016 @ 11:30pm. I see that raciscm against black people still totally exist hete in Delray Beach, Florida! Hopefully God will have mercy on the racist people here in Delray...

Long time customer, friendly with the owners and staff. Great food and cold-cold beer. The prices won't put you in the poor house and most people are very friendly. Is it perfect? Not at all but some of the reviews on other sites are probably from some whiny pants jokers who think every place has to kiss there tootie just cause they bought a beer. That's not this place, act like an adult and you will be treated like an adult. Act like a self centered privileged jack-wad and that's probably how you will get treated. You want to have some good food and a cold drink, meet some good people and watch sports or play pool/darts then this place will give you that. Yes we smoke so if that's a show stopper for you there are many non-smoking places for you to try. Don't be shy, if you come in and see me there puffing on a cigar I'm happy to talk Boston sports or cigars etc. Maybe even do a shot with...
