Hoffman's Chocolates — Restaurant in Delray Beach

I scheduled the Hoffman's Ice Cream truck "Sweet Ride" for my son's birthday. We confirmed with Samantha three separate times throughout a two week process. She TEXTED us 23 hours before our party to let us know her truck broke down and that it would be canceled. When we attempted to call she said she was working at an event and busy. When we finally got in touch, she was nothing less then ambivalent about then entire situation. We explained at this point we are looking for them to salvage somehow as we had other venders booked around this day...either an lower key ice cream stand at a table we would set up and with coolers and freezers or another alternative. They said the only thing they can do is reschedule the date three weeks out. When we asked for a discount to try and get back some of the cost of other canceled venders they told us absolutely not.

In summary, don't use this company for your corporate event. The truck ironically came to an event the next week I was at and it was less then impressive both in cleanliness and taste. Do yourself a favor and contact Cherry Smash. They came to the rescue for our party and provided a variety of options in a lot more festive package. Hoffman's cares zero percent about this part of the business. I have a soft spot for Hoffman's because they are a south Florida success story. Hoffman's opened in 1975 in downtown Lake Worth. In the late 1980's they moved to Greenacres where they opened both a store and a chocolate factory. They hold a lot of events at this location and it is always decorated beautifully at the holidays for its Winter Wonderland Event. In addition to the Greenacres store there are several retail locations around south Florida. Besides chocolates, ice cream and milkshakes are sold at all Hoffman's locations.

I discovered this retail location in the Delray Marketplace while looking for a birthday gift. This location has a party room. They also have the aforementioned ice cream which is always popular with shoppers at the marketplace. I enjoyed checking out all of their Easter confections on display like chocolate covered Oreos and rabbit shaped lollipops. I have purchased items for my daughter's Easter basket in the past. Even though she is in her 20's she is not giving up her Easter basket! i went to this place after my family grabbed dinner at another restaurant. i usually eat dairy free, so when i asked what dairy free options there were, she told me there were two options: lemon ice or rainbow sherbet. i originally opted for the rainbow sherbet, which looked really good. a couple bites into the dessert, i noticed it was suspiciously creamy for df ice cream. i then looked up if sherbet had dairy, and turns out all sherbet has some sort of dairy in it. i asked the lady again if she was sure there was no dairy in the ice cream, and honestly her english was not that good, so i didn’t quite understand what she said. i ended up switching the ice cream to the lemon one. i’m not deathly allergic to dairy or anything but if i was, this could have...
