My husband and I and a close friend of ours dined in last night at Segreto's which we were told had just opened about a month ago and is the old 3rd on 3rd. We were so anxious to check it out and were told to sit at the bar. We arrived around 7:30 and the place was jumping! It was packed! The entire bar was occupied. There were folks even standing. We just knew we weren't going to get a seat. Somehow two seats opened up a few moments later and my husband and I were directed by the female bartender to come over. I'm always so amazed how bartenders are able to handle 20-30 ppl at once; it's highly impressive. Later to find out when she introduced herself her name was Mars (like the planet) she said. Mars was the only bartender back there on a Saturday night besides a young gentleman stuck in the corner making drinks for the serving staff.
I was in complete amazement watching her; that is a big bar and to see her kick butt like that and stay so poised and take care of everyone was beyond magnificent! We started off with the meatballs and bread service. The meatballs were so good! I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese and my husband got the short rib lasagna. Our friend decided on the lamb chops once Mars talked them up well! The food came out and boy everything was delicious!! Unbelievably fantastic! There was a couple sitting next to us whom the wife was celebrating her birthday and Mars surprised her with a blueberry cheesecake! They were so happy and I could tell they shared the same dining experience as we did!
I wanted to express our overall experience but most importantly give a long and hard hand clap to Mars! By far one of thee best bartenders we've ever seen and encountered! Anyone on the outside looking in and sitting at that bar could see how one bartender is beyond overwhelming especially on a Saturday night but she handled things with such grace, elegance, and class! This girl didn't miss a beat! She deserves to be more than acknowledged and recognized! A stand out without a doubt! Just a suggestion from people who dine out all of the time; amazing workers get burned out when they have to hustle and bustle like that! A Saturday night in a hectic bar scene management should think about giving her some help behind that bar! We will for sure be back as service was superb! And for the blueberry cheesecake we were too...
Read moreI was Excited to try this upscale Italian restaurant. It has been opened only two weeks, so I anticipated that there could be a few bumps. The food was very good, and the portions were large. At this price point I expect very good quality and taste with regards to the food. Bread was served hot, but did not stand out. I decided to go with the evening special, which was veal parmigiana. These was no explanation of this dish, and I thought the server mentioned it was a cutlet, although it turned out to be a chop. Very tasty but not what I expected. Most of the dishes are in the $30+ range for pasta, and $40+ for fish and chicken. I asked the server what was served with the veal, and was told that nothing accompanied it. So I ordered a side for $14.00. The veal was served almost hot, and my side was delivered much hotter. They also served some potato’s which I did not expect. If I realized the side of potato’s was included, I would not have ordered an additional side. The price was not mentioned at the time the server explained the specials, so I was a bit shocked to realize the cost was $75.00 and the additional cost of $14. For the side. The server was not as skilled as called for in a fine dining restaurant. She was not very knowledgeable about the dishes, and did not control the pace of the meal.Drinks took 15 minutes to be served, and the food dishes took a long time. I observed that other tables were served quicker. The server was very pleasant and friendly. I do feel bad for this public criticism, but this is an easy fix. The restaurant is extremely noisy and loud. There is a background roar of noise continuously. My suggestions to the manager- Have a separate menu insert listing the specials of the day and the prices. I would also suggest that they l consider adding noise absorbent panels on the walls. They really work. When someone is sharing a salad, divide it in the kitchen, upscale restaurants do this. For the prices charged they need to...
Read moreMy husband and I were regulars here. The food was fantastic and the wine list was great. We always sat at the bar. We brought some friends in and sat at a table since we had been ranting and raving about it, but unfortunately, the meal wasn’t great. (Little did we know they had an issue with the chef at the time.) The next day, the hostess called to check on us and see how our experience was. I was honest and told her we had no intention to return and we were disappointed. The next day, the manager, Sabrina, called us to ask if we’d give her the opportunity to make it right and told us there was a gift card waiting in our name and to come in when we saw fit. 2 months later, we thought we’d stop by the bar to have a glass of wine and an appetizer. IMMEDIATELY recognized and greeted by Sabrina (which is the only reason we came back in, to be honest), along with Chris, our favorite bartender, Rafael, and the NEW chef, Glenn. Chef Glenn came out from the kitchen to introduce himself as the new chef and send us out food just to try new menu items he created. 10/10 experience tonight, and we’re happy to say we’re regulars again. This is what 90% of restaurants are lacking— CUSTOMER SERVICE. HOSPITALITY. Sensational follow-up that resulted in a win. Thank you, Sabrina, for bringing us back in— we don’t regret it. Hope this restaurant has great success because...
