First time posting on a website...and sorry to be posting a negative one...but this guy is a weirdo! I took my watch in to have a link on the gold bracelet repaired...(which he did a great job on) and while there he suggested the watch could do with a good clean and polishing which I agreed to. I went back the next day to pick it up and paid the $250. bill. When I got home I noticed the watch was not keeping time, nor were the hands aligned with the numbers....I marched the watch back the next day - and he said none of that was his fault...watches break or need to be replaced, and then proceeded to make a correlation between a watch and a car?!?! Long story short...The watch was not working and I didn't trust him enough to leave it! The next morning I took my watch to Tick Tock Watch repair at Boynton Beach Rd and Military Trail...the guy there took one look at the watch and asked me who messed up the watch?!...The crystal was not put back in properly and fell out it this guy's hand...the seal on the watch had not been done....Thank goodness for Tic Tock!!!...I left the watch overnight and the gentleman there put in a new crystal...aligned the hands of the watch...and properly sealed the watch for me....all for $90. Use The Goldsmith for battery changes only...I'm sure he can manage that without completely screwing up your watch...what a ripoff...
Read moreThis is a very mixed review because I am very happy with his work but feel like I was totally scammed...I brought in a bracelet for repair. He took a look at it and turned to his machine to start working on it. I asked for a price before he started and he said $25. Then he commented that I was missing a few links and the charge would be $10. I responded ok and to confirm a total of $35 correct and he said yes. He finish the repair and said that will be $95. My response was, but you told me $35 and he immediately pointed to a sign on the wall and said, it says right there $25 per solder and I did 3 plus $10 per link and it needed 2. I again said, but you total me a total of $35 and again he just pointed to the sign and said, it says it right there. At that point I just wanted to get my bracelet and leave so I just paid it. I would have had no problem paying it if he had just been upfront and honest instead of what he did. It is a shame because he does do good work but I would never...
Read moreStay away from this guy. He’s a surly man who doesn’t deserve business. I emailed him to ask if my mom could drop off jewelry for repair and I would pay the bill. He said no problem. I ended up actually going with her to drop it off and he acted like he couldn’t be bothered by her questions and sneered at her when he felt she was asking too many questions when she was simply trying to be informed so she could properly tell him what she needed done. We left without saying anything because I didn’t want to cause a scene and ruin her Christmas present. When she went to pick up her pieces, he barked at her “what am I supposed to chase your son down for payment now?”.....when the only reason we went to him is because he agreed to let me pay over the phone. He’s maybe skilled behind a soundproof wall but has no business talking to customers. Save yourself the insults and go...
