Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Delray Beach

I went through the drive thru around 11:30 pm on 2/21/2019 at this location. I ordered a couple sandwiches and fries and a shake, total was $12.49. I had to wait about 15 mins for my order which is usual for this location but not why I’m complaining. I drove off and forgot I didn’t receive my shake until I got home. I turned around and drove right back to the location having not eaten a single thing from my bag, this was at 11:50pm. Went to the drive thru and was first greeted very hastily and rudely by a petite tall African American woman who I explained I didn’t get my shake, I couldn’t finish talking because she called someone else to talk to me. The man now talking to me was named Runell and he is a middle aged African American man. He asked me for my receipt and I told him I wasn’t given one and handed him the unopened bag full of food and said they forgot my shake so I couldn’t eat my full meal. He was being extremely rude and hostile and absolutely unprofessional for someone in customer service. I told him to just give me a refund because I don’t need this drama and he stated it’s Steak and Shake policy to never give a refund ever. I said ok well then remake me all the food I paid for and have not eaten and remake a whole new shake that I never received. About 15 or so minutes later he returned and gave me my food, I asked for his name and he gave it but was extremely rude when I asked how do you spell it since Runell isn’t a common used name and he refused. He told me his manager’s name was Shay and I had no issue with her, she wasn’t there during the confrontation with him. Again this was on 2/21/2019 at approximately between the time of 11:30pm-12:00am. I’m giving these times so upper management can easily check the schedule to see who was on duty and the employees responsible for such awful customer service and unprofessionalism. I already put a full complaint in with the board for Steak and Shake so I hope they’ll do the right thing for them and fire those employees who give Steak and Shake a bad reputation and lose customers. I will never be returning to this location...

I love steak and shake. This location is a plaza with some generally common stores like target and dollar tree so when you are out shopping 🛒🛍️ and need some solid , real food, craving a good real shake with all the Best flavors it's so great to see there is a quality food establishment within affordable pricing it's convenient and satisfying. I personally come to this location frequently as I live within a mile radius and I have never had any concerns about this location or complaints. The service is always great, food is served in a timely manner AND they get all the orders here correct. AND FOR ALL THE PEOPLE CONCERNED ABOUT VIRUSES AND PERSONAL HYGIENE WELFARES DURING THESE unfortunate times this location is completely content free when it comes to ordering the pay and order process in store is completely touch screen you walking place your order in the machine customize it etc so on then you can pay with cash or credit or you can pay with debit or you can pre-order on your phone and app then walking the only time you make any kind of contact with staff is picking up the actual bag of food which is never a problem the employees here practice safe hygiene. The wait time is never too bad great atmosphere good get away from the hubbub of normal fast food when you just need a good place for the good family vibe this is it there was any place around for a meal $4 $5 and under I would pick this over any location five stars and it's...

Funny enough, Steak 'n Shake has both! I have been a fan for a long time, but I have never been to this location. The other day I was meeting a business associate in the area and thought, I could use a shake. I walked in and felt kinda lucky, there was no line at all to order. Steak 'n Shake is a sit down place, but also you can order to go, that's what I always do. I know it all depends on the person there at the time, but I had 2 different girls help me choose what to get. I wanted every shake on the board. In part due to the embarrassment of the idea of walking to my car with 10 shakes, I chose the cookies and cream. as it was part of a combo coupon I had, I got the Patty melt with it. Both were really great. The shake was chunky, including the trade mark cherry that sits in every shake. The Patty Melt was golden brown from the butter toasted into it. It may not have been photogenic, but it hit the spot. Especially 'cause when I asked for extra pickles, they gave me a bunch. I sure it's not the best service every time, but this visit was great in every way. I just got so hungry writing this review I may have to stop back in...
