I am so glad this place opened so close to me! I went there today, as it was my birthday and i love kbbq and hot pot. The staff was super friendly, accommodating, and polite. My server was prompt and checked in very regularly. Best service I’ve seen in a long time! The atmosphere was amazing too. It’s a very spacious restaurant, and the interior design is perfect! Music is constantly playing overhead, and it’s at a pretty good volume. The seating is spaced out well and it feels comfy. Now for the food… Spectacular! The menu has a very large selection for both kbbq and hot pot, and you get 2 hours to eat everything! The meat was very fresh, and tasted so. I really enjoyed it. Not only that, but there’s a big selection of sauces and seasonings at the bar. Additionally, there’s plenty of delicious appetizers to choose from as well. They also have swiss rolls and other little deserts, as well as some orange slices. In terms of drinks, they have a nice variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. It’s so great to see a place locally that sells soju and soju cocktails. Super happy about that! My only note for the food overall is that a lot of the meat items are relatively plain. That’s not a huge issue considering the large amount of sauces/seasonings at the bar, but it would be nice to see more marinades. The bulgolgi and other marinated meats were pretty tasty, I just wish there were more of them! Other than that, everything is stellar!!! I’ve said it a million times, but I’m genuinely so happy this place opened up and I’m very excited to come back here often!!! (P.S- Their birthday cheesecake is delicious <3)

So, hey, I sure like trying a new place. Even a new kind of place. And this is both. We didn't know at all what to do here. And unfortunately our server didn't do a very good job of explaining it to us, and we didn't know what questions to ask. There's the broth thing, and you use an iPad to order meats and other things to boil in ur broth. And then there's a super hot pan where you can cook mostly meat. Having never been to a place that does either of these things, we did a poor job of selecting pretty much everything. Now, they totally brought us super nice-looking raw meats after we clicked on them on the iPad. And the fried chicken and fries over there on the all-you-can-eat bar are actually really good. But we just didn't know how to do a good job with the raw food they brought us. And a lot of the shellfish wasn't very good anyway. So, if it's your first time, choose either broth or grill. Focus on just one. If broth, get the herb-y one and try sticking to meats you would normally cook for yourself at home. If grill, get the spare rib, which was the best thing I had during our first visit. Try one thing at a time. Not sure we'll be back, but if we do visit again, I'll def get the spare rib. And make sure you grab one or two of the little tubs of ice cream on the way out.

Food is what you make it. Make sure you know what you like before you order. The all you can eat is $30.99 and you choose between the hot pot or the grill, l preferred the grilled items. If you want to do both grill and hot pot, it's an extra 5.00 per person and everyone at the table has to have the same option. I get it, they don't want 1 person ordering grill and 1 person ordering hot pot and both people getting to have both. But then at the end of the meal, I hadn't finished all my hot pot and wanted to take it home. They charge 13.99 for the to-go container, so you get to pay for the food that you already cooked, again. Over all, it was an okay experience. I won't be back. Way too pricey for the amount of food I'm able to eat but I don't want to be limited to just one entree either. Meh. Doesn't break my heart. Just trying to give an honest review.

0 STARS Honestly, this place was horrible. I give it 0 stars. The whole restaurant has a cold, unfriendly, weird vibe to it. The tables and windows were nasty, and the staff — especially the servers — were off-putting, cold, and had no customer service skills. Yet they want to throw on an automatic tip fee, which is funny because we barely got service at all. I wasn’t informed about the automatic tip either, and I had already left a $5 tip just because that’s how I am. But honestly, no one in this establishment deserves a tip if you can’t even look a customer in the eye or respond to a simple “thank you.” We kept ordering two of everything since there were two of us, but half the time they were out of things, and when we asked for a second round they looked at us crazy — like we were bothering them. They didn’t even bring out our rice at the beginning — we had to run someone down just to ask. The server was so quiet and rushed off every time. The food portions were ridiculous, the appetizer bar was pitiful (two sad pieces of chicken sat there crystallizing the whole two hours we were there), and the so-called “all you can eat seafood” was a total waste of money. Our one singular potato was hard as apple, and the ramen was clumped together and impossible to eat. We got charged $67 for two people… and on top of that, you’re not allowed to take home the food you already cooked and paid for. If you don’t finish it, they slap you with a $13.99 food waste fee. That’s insane. To make matters worse, the meat made my mom severely sick. She was in their bathroom for 20 minutes throwing up, sweating, and came back out only to keep getting sick later with stomach pain. And before anyone says it was undercooked no. We cooked our meat thoroughly. This points to bad poultry or unsafe food. This place is dangerous. My mom got food poisoning, plain and simple. After reading other reviews mentioning the same issues and even racism I honestly want to report this place to the health department, the BBB, and maybe even the local news. Lansing deserves better than this mess. Avoid K-Pot at all costs. I would really like my money back but I am afraid it would most likely be a mess especially after seeing the racial issues in the reviews and we are bpoc so they probably would give...

Last night was my second time visiting this restaurant. I brought my sister with me after raving about my first experience here. I won’t be returning for several reasons. First, when we entered and approached the counter I informed the staff that I had a party of 4. 2 adults and 2 children ages 7 & 8. We were told there was a wait for a table, so we sat and waited. While we were waiting, I noticed that the next group of 4 guest that came in after us were seated right away to the right of the restaurant. After about 15 minutes of waiting, one of the host approached my children and spoke directly to them to ask how old they are like the staff didn’t believe the ages that I had provided. I asked why didn’t they ask me how old my children are or at least ask me if it was okay to talk to my kids. I was told that he somehow thought it would be more respectful for him to ask them directly. This made no sense to me. In no other situation would it be appropriate to have a stranger walk right up to kids and question them without permission from their parents. We were seated afterwards to the left of the restaurant. It wasn’t until I went to the sauce bar that I noticed how segregated the restaurant was. People of Asian descent and white people were all seated on the right side of the restaurant while black people were all seated on the left. I was disgusted. One of the things that I loved from our first experience was that it felt so diverse. When I returned to our table my boys told me that their Starry drinks tasted off. I tried it and noticed it was low on syrup. I notified the waiter and he just looked at me like what did I want him to do about it. I had to request new drinks since they weren’t offered. My sister went ahead and tipped the man in advance and that got us better service from him for the rest of the night. I really hate that there’s so much blatant racism in this restaurant that seems to stem from...

This was my first time dining at this type of restaurant. First impression, its overpriced, the information was not clear as to what a serving is. i.e. we had a party of 4 & 3 of us ordered the short ribs, only to be told after our ribs arrived that a serving was 1 rib per person but we could order more if we wanted. 2ndly if u do have leftovers u have to pay an extra fee about $15 to take home the food that u already paid for. Lastly i don’t understand the reasoning why everyone has to have the same thing, everyone in your party has to order the bbq or the hotpot but if 1 person wants something different everyone has to order both for an additional $5.00 per person. There’s also a $15 excessive food waste charge, so we were afraid to order different meats and try them but didn’t in fear that we’d be charged the excessive waste fee. We ordered 4 different proteins for our party of 4, all were very bland except for the short ribs they were very good but had alot of fat on them. Not very many vegetables on the menu. There is an appetizer/buffet bar which has very few items on it & the fries were cold. Our server was nice but not very helpful about how to cook the food. We didn’t have a spray bottle of oil at our table in the beginning, thats when i noticed other customers using one to keep the food from sticking on the grill, i then asked our waiter for one which he brought but it leaked every time I would spray it. The best thing about this experience was that it was my son’s bday & they comped his meal. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff but in my opinion overrated & overpriced for food you have to cook yourself. Take your hard earned $30 per person and get your self a prime cut steak or lobster dinner. Glad i tried it but i won’t be a...
