Seems almost all of the good waitresses are gone 😥
The wanna be manager (tall, Asian male cashier ) did a very bad job of taking care of a bad situation with 2 violent customers the other day, he does not care for the safety of customers or peaceful atmosphere needed for a restaurant to succeed.
SHAME ON YOU !!
The man stocking clean plates slammed them into the racks in the lobby SO LOUD IT SCARED MY YOUNG CHILD TO THE POINT OF CRYING 😭. When I pointed it out , nothing was done to correct it AND HE KEPT DOING IT !!
SHAME ON YOU AGAIN !!
Very wrong, rude and inconsiderate workers speak a foreign language in front of customers, you are in America ladies, that is unacceptable. In private is ok, but it is so unprofessional to do this in the lobby, especially when talking way too loud !!! Most speak little English, so it's better for them to practice !!!
Lost 8 stars total .......
Waitresses Jenna , Zoe, Jinpeng and Cindy are very fast, friendly, attentive, and very nice .
Hostesses are also smiling, fast and friendly Good job ladies 😉. Main Grill cook and back up cook are awesome, please tip them all separately.
They have other employees who are mostly smiling and happy to help if needed...
only two bad tempered ones 😡😡. Woman who stocks food in buffet and male manager who is a cashier. 👎👎
still ❤️ This place , but losing love fast....
I don't do sushi but eat food off the hibachi almost every visit. Shrimp n veggies with teriyaki and garlic sauces.
From the buffet I recommend....Fried chicken, steam salmon, potsticker dumplings, rice, noodles, chicken broccoli, pepper chicken 😋, salad bar (occasionally the cucumber and pickle are not fresh ), both types of melon , fried white fish (but it is only good for the first 10 minutes after open), sliced pot roast, and Japanese steak tips.
I would avoid the pineapple chicken, 20 minutes after open time and it's very hard, dry, tough, and barely warm. Some fried food gets cold fast, they seem to over cook amounts often. Steam tables and heat lamps definitely need maintenance, and there are many broken chairs. I did see the main cook with a no contact laser thermometer today, that's a good sign 👍 probably an inspection day lol.
Super busy when Church is done.
When the sun is out, the only good seating area is by the hibachi grill and restrooms. The sun blinds you in the other 2 areas, and they are not smart enough to add tint or blinds. The north seating area has a horribly designed half wall that wobbles terribly when anyone touches it. Avoid the tables near it...
Men's bathroom is clean in morning, but gets dirty fast. Smells disgusting 🤢. Pour some pine oil in the floor drains, urinals, and sinks every night. Bleach soak for 15 minutes every week.
Hope...

I have been here a few times and have never been impressed with the food. Everytime I’ve come it is for a larger party event (graduation, funeral types). I will say it’s a pretty big restaurant. My party today consisted of 5 kids and 8 adults. So decent size and we were charged automatic gratuity for that size. We were there for 2 hours. Never got refills on any drinks. Everyone adult had an empty cup. It’s a buffet so we were expecting our plates to be clear but we watched everyone 3 employees sit around chatting at a table across from us. They didn’t acknowledge us at all. I will note it was a Monday evening and not busy but other tables did receive refills.
Food was typical of a low grade buffet. My kid loved the chicken nuggets and fries and fruit. I tried hibachi. The beef was over cooked and tough and lacked flavor, with it being so dry i could’ve really used more water but …. Anyway. Spring rolls and Rangoon were the best things i had.
I had a long drive home so I decided to attempt to go to the bathroom. When i walked in an employee walked out an employee walked out without washing hands. I watch her turn the water on and run one hand under no soap. Then i walk over to the stall ( the one next to the one the employee was in and there was a stopped up toilet and literally pile of poop on the floor. I walked out. Went straight to the front to talk to the theee employees just sitting there chatting and told them. They shrugged and rolled their eyes. Won’t be returning...
Read moreSo the reason for the low rating: We visited Lansing this weekend, for the zoo and science center. When we entered this restaurant, we explained to the hostess that one of our kids had special needs and we needed a booth. I won't explain our reasons, just know that she understood.
The waitress came over, [she didn't seem to speak much English] and simply said, "No." To us and proceeded to try to move us to a table. Because of the language barrier, we started to simply move and try to figure it out for our kids.... we'll, my 2 year old, started to melt down, and the sound of his crying was too much for my other child. So I decided to move us back to the booth.
I knew [regardless of the language barrier] that the waitress simply didn't want HER routine interrupted. But to me, that's not customer service. I watched her go to the hostess and cashier and complain about us. I was livid. I told my husband to wait with the kids, and I marched over there, repeated my situation [which I thought was understood by the hostess], and proceeded to tell them that we were NOT moving, we'd had a long day, and wanted to be left alone. They were very apologetic and kept the waitress away from us.
My husband [who is a gentle spirit] was upset during the whole meal [our kids were too hungry for us to find another place]. Although the other staff apologized, the waitress did not. My family should never have to go through that after a long day at the zoo because of someone else's preferences.
Needless to say, we wont ever...
