Always wanted to try this place but it just never showed up on my radar. Well, we were driving around looking for somewhere and we happened upon it. Outside it really cool looking, like the spot to be. Walk inside: different story. You have a narrow hallway and then order at a counter before you seat yourself. Eh, okay. We ordered our food but there is one thing that irritates me. If I have to pay before I get my food, don’t ask me for a tip. I’m not tipping you for flipping your screen around, I’m not tipping you to take my order. So, anyway, moving on. The dining room looks like somewhere I would go if I was about to get whacked. Dark and dingy, the tables weren’t level and they had some kid of bar area that I couldn’t quite figure out. The whole place was depressing. I’m pretty sure I saw one of the staff sitting at that bar contemplating his bad life choices. We ordered an appetizer, it came out, but 1 min later, here comes all the rest of the food. Okay, guess there was no need for that appetizer. Everything was good, it was just all kind of bland and the wild rice was barely edible, which at some point I’m okay with, but for two people to eat with a kids meals was $53. Wow… talk about sticker shock for what we got. Not really my jam, it may be a Denton thing, not really sure how they stay in business considering all the amazing other places around them. Wouldn’t recommend. Likely wouldn’t go back.

This was a spur of the moment "let's find a close by seafood place to eat at" kinda visit. I located Frilly's through Google and yelp searches and saw they had pretty good reviews so we gave them a try. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated. They had a gentleman playing live music who was doing an absolutely wonderful job. He was putting his own charismatic twist on well known songs, wasn't so loud you couldn't talk to people at your own table, honestly the best kinda live music. We ordered some hishpuppies, fried pickles, and gator bites to start. Great appetizers to get the meal going. Everything was cooked perfectly. I ordered the Blackened salmon with the st. Andrew's sauce. My lord, it was mouth watering. The salmon was cooked beautifully, the sauce perfectly complemented the blacked seasoning. I really can't describe just how delicious this dish was. I can't even remember what everyone else ordered because I was so focused on my dish. I can confirm everyone enjoyed their meals though! My dad confirmed he is now a fan for life and will definitely be back! L be making a point to visit everytime I'm in Texas now.

I needed to get lunch quick before getting back to work and I stopped here cause, why not? As soon as you walkin there's a certain smell... I'm guessing it's their grease trap... I dunno, but I really didn't have time to go somewhere where else so I stayed. Now the host sat me quick and the server, Cindy, came by soon after. I ordered some tenders cause I figured they would come out fast. When I got up to go wash my hands (PSA: wash your hands boys and girls!), I noticed a band setting up, I'm guessing they have live music on Fridays...? So my tenders came out and they were crispy on the smaller size, like a kids meal. Now the fries... were just a bunch of left over broken pieces, not any whole fries which was a disappointment. And the smell was ever present, honestly I wont be back until they get rid of that nasty, gross smell in the air. The best part was the staff, their friendly demeanor and welcoming way. Thank you Cindy!

Frilly's Seafood Bayou Kitchen is a hidden gem that captivated my taste buds with its delectable seafood offerings. Tucked away in a cozy corner, the ambiance is casual and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a laid-back dining experience.

From the moment I entered, the aroma of fresh seafood filled the air, setting the stage for the feast to come. The menu featured a variety of seafood options, from classic shrimp po'boys to innovative twists on Cajun-inspired dishes. The sheer diversity of choices made it difficult to decide, but each selection promised a taste of the bayou.

I opted for the crawfish étouffée and was blown away by the rich, flavorful roux that enveloped perfectly cooked crawfish. The dish had just the right amount of spice, transporting my taste buds to the heart of Louisiana. The portions were generous, ensuring that every bite was a satisfying journey through seafood bliss.

The staff at Frilly's Seafood Bayou Kitchen were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive dining experience. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to accommodate dietary preferences enhanced the visit.

While the setting may not be overly fancy, the true star here is the seafood. Frilly's Seafood Bayou Kitchen offers a genuine taste of the bayou, making it a must-visit for seafood enthusiasts. The prices are reasonable, considering the quality and quantity of the dishes served.

In conclusion, Frilly's Seafood Bayou Kitchen exceeded my expectations, delivering a seafood experience that combines authenticity with flavor. If you're a seafood aficionado looking for a taste of the bayou, this hidden gem is sure to satisfy...

Today we had late lunch at Frilly’s @3p normally we go for dinner @5p. In the past you would walk up to the hostess and she would seat you and the waiter would take your order. Today we had to order at the front register and pay for our meal (we added 15% tip @ $9) then went and sat at a table. We ordered a dozen raw oysters (use to be $14.99 now $21.99) catfish plate from the lunch menu ($8.99) frog legs (use to be $11.99 now $15.99) and side order of fried okra (only got half a bowl). My husband ordered a beer and I ordered a glass of water. The young lady that took our order only served the beer never brought my glass of water until we stopped her as she was walking by our table and asked her for water. There was no utensils or napkins at the table so we had to get up and get it. There was only 2 couples in the restaurant when we got there so they were not busy. When we got our food it was not hot it was like it was sitting in the kitchen awhile before they brought it to us. I don’t think fried food is as good if it’s not hot. Today we learned a lesson, DO NOT TIP if you have to order and pay at the window and seat yourself (cafeteria style). We left very disappointed with the service & food and have decided we will not be back. So sad because it used to be good and the service used to...
