GREEN ZATAR — Restaurant in Denton

The food is fresh and tastes excellent. The atmosphere is pleasant and soothing and our waitress was quite nice. We were there at peak lunchtime but only two other tables were seated. No one came in after us and the place was quite empty. We ordered hummus and pita, 3 sandwiches, and drinks. You know what that cost us for lunch? $42 FREAKING DOLLARS! I had to look twice to make sure we had the right bill. I will NEVER go here again until they start pricing things at a reasonable rate. That was just robbery. Which is a shame since I like going to these places because they cater to my vegetarian/vegan lifestyle. I also thought it was weird how the obvious owners were either standing in the kitchen or seated at a little corner table watching his tablet never even thinking to come around to his two customers to thank them for coming in or asking how was everything. Highly unprofessional and a lack of caring dropped the mood. Good food, but be prepared to shell...

Absolutely wonderful!!!!! Where to begin?!?! The atmosphere is inviting and cozy. Lights are slightly dimmed during dinner. The decor is festive... pretty colors and fabrics, etc. The plants are beautiful around in window. Certainly my 'cup of tea.' That's Just getting started..... Oh my!!!! The cuisine!!! There is so much passion and attention to detail as Ali and Hakimeh prepare the plates of food. The flavors across the menu will captivate your senses. From sipping the tea, to enjoying the crisp salad they prepare with a hint of fresh lemon juice and spices, to the perfectly prepared tender shishkabobs (grilled meats) accompanied with tasty vegetables that enhance every bite... For me, this Jewel is The Best culinary experience in Denton!!! And to put in to perspective... I put this restaurant in the Top 10 in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.. a Must for any who enjoy great food!! Bon...

5 stars PLUS. App keeps dumping stars! My favorite place to meet friends to catch up. Calm, usually quiet place to recharge my personal battery with great food (Lamb!), cardamom tea, wonderful dessert (baklava, so good, so Big) all served by the family-owned shop with a little help now after many years.

A few staple groceries offered on side shelves. Try the stuffed grape leaves, assortment of jams & jellies, a tin of that wonderful tea!

Very reasonable prices for the quality you get; honestly have never had an 'off' item here. Ever; certainly can't say that for others. Also never rude. Such a nice change.

I consider this the cleanest, friendliest & best Persian/Middle Eastern food in Denton. Love this place & the people who run it so have been coming here for...
